I've been doing some thinking and lightweight planning for the future. A lot of you know that prefer not to make stuff I think EA will do so that whatever I make doesn't become obsolete. The Wild Chicken Egg is an example of this, I created something more geared toward survival so that if EA makes a coop you can still use mine in other situations.

Now that EA has started to release kits I want to re-think how I make new content. Kits mean that EA will be able to come out with a lot of the niche things we've been asking for. For example, lots of you have mentioned a blender but I guarantee that EA will release a healthy drink kit or something that has one. So the question is how can I create content without spending a lot of time on things that EA will likely put in a kit?

I thought about it a little and here's a few areas I can focus on: 

• Adding to and expanding on content we already have, like adding new playability, recipes, or interactions
• Create new stuff that I'm pretty sure EA won't do
• Create new stuff that I'm pretty sure EA WILL do, but gearing it more toward off-the-grid or survival gameplay so you could find a use for it still if EA does make it
• Create new stuff that I'm pretty sure EA WILL do, but I will make the recipe object (like the mill) super basic with few or no animations/effects/interactions so I'm not wasting too much time, I may be able to move any recipes for it to the EA object later 

I'd love to get feedback from you all on this, and any alternative suggestions are appreciated! 

Future Content

Those of you who have been here for a while know that we've brainstormed a lot of ideas that I never got to finish either because of lack of knowledge on how to complete it, or because of time constraints. I was going to put a list of them below but I don't want to overwhelm myself lol. I'm going to pick out and group together our ideas, and post something once I've narrowed it down a little. I think whatever comes next will continue to build off of what I've done so far so that projects don't go on for too long or get forgotten about.

In general, I think functional objects I make will start as an appliance, like the mill, that will require power. Once that's done, tested, and released I'll make an Off-the-Grid version as well. This gives me some time to edit the appliance slightly to be OTG and maybe get some ideas from you all on how it should function OTG. Some things like the cheese press will be non-electric by nature so something like that will only need one version.

Just wanted to share my thoughts, I'll have a follow up to this post toward the end of the month :D
