Tifa and Aerith at the bar -- commission

This was my first time doing Aerith, which is such a surprise, considering how popular she is, while this was the second time I got to tackle Tifa. Doing this little bar scene was interesting; I'm always experimenting with ways in which to make the background exciting and work with the characters, while not detracting. The client suggested the bar, so I went with a somewhat neutral color tone of earthy browns and greys, along with a plain light blue back glow to the drink shelving, to not overwhelm the characters in the foreground. Finally, applying a blur filter to the background really solidifies where the focus is, such that the viewer is not distracted from Tifa and Aerith.
Not much to say about the characters themselves, since I just drew what was in the references... XD
