Project Goals - March
Added 2019-02-22 17:11:39 +0000 UTCThis weekend I'm going to take a break from creating so I can tidy up my Mods folder and fix up my site a little more. Here's what I'm looking at working on in the coming weeks and please leave any thoughts/comments/suggestions below!
Pre-Release:
All things harvestables will be coming your way including the overrides and the produce tables. I'll also need some suggestions for objects to separate from Strangerville. There are a few things I'll definitely be separating but beyond that it will be Patron request only :)
Early Access:
Stuff I'm planning for this month:
- Chalk Signage Set - I love all the boards in game but I can never find EXACTLY what I need. It'll be geared toward Farmer's Market stuff and ideally have a bunch of decal stickers you can use interchangeably on different types of signs. I figure with the size up/down cheat you can do a lot with this.
- Produce Storage Crate - I didn't get to finish this last month so I want to wrap it up with some recolors and fix it's tuning. I'll also be adding a slot to the crate so you can use those chalk stickers on it and label what's in there.
- Harvestables - I don't know if I'll get all of them done but I'm trying to keep my other projects a bit simpler so I can work on getting them all out. This will include some new stuff I never got around to releasing previously. ;)
- Strangerville Clutter - I'll just be separating stuff when I can. If there's anything specific you want me to separate let me know!
Lot Owners:
As previously discussed, Riverside Farmer's Market was only partially finished but I decided to release it early because of the size of the project. Instead I'll be releasing objects for market stalls every month, allowing Lot-Owners to update their Market, while I re-build Willow Creek in a more New Orleans/Garden District style. In March I want to focus on the Fish Stall, specifically I'm looking to create:
- Portable Fish Cooler - in all reality it will be a fridge but I'll limit it enough so you can chose to store only fish in there. The idea is to be able to take it to the pond with you so you can keep your fish fresher than if it were stored in your Sim's inventory.
- Fish Tank (Rectangular) Storage - this will be a tricky one and will depend on the coding. At the very least I'd like it to store multiple fish until you're ready to display them and have a fish animation to go with it.
- Plastic Fish Bins with Ice - these will just be some basic displays for fish you want to sell. I'm sure I can add the stock option to these but you'll likely have to set them for sale individually. I'll make at least one counter version and a large bucket version for the floor.
- If time permits, fishing clutter
As far as the actual Lot(s) for March, I'm going to focus on another neighborhood in Willow Creek. I'm leaning toward building on the two larger, more expensive lots because I'm planning on one being an old Plantation-Style house and the other a farm. My thought is that the family who owns the farm will own and be creating all the goods for sale at Riverside Farmer's Market. It's also a pretty good location because of it's size and it being near a decent fishing spot. I'll try to post some inspiration pics soon!
So...
This is the plan! I'm trying to be more organized by planning and listing stuff but know that I may make changes, additions, or swap stuff around as needed. :)
Comments
So I have just been watching some Strangerville Build Buy videos and I love the look and vibe of all the items coming with this pack, especially the storage shelves, the medium tall bookshelf and the home-made bar. These would be great targets for extraction -- I wish they would have been separated by EA already! In particular, I love the large horizontal freezer in the back of the bar cabinet; it looks like something from the 50s and would make a great working freezer (maybe for your fish), storage chest, or even just a deco object; I hope it has recolours too. There were also some nice bottles, cups and pictures on this object, as well as some useful looking tubs, cleaners and rope on the storage shelves. The science lab stuff looks good too.
