The government sees all data before we do and has a carefully crafted model. I suspect this is a textbook action done on purpose. If we depend 90% on external manufacturing, its a national security issue. Long term it will kill us and make us lose any power we have over anything. AI is exactly why manufacturing can now be brought back because AI is cheaper than people. The factories here will be largely automated.
