2025-02-11 14:16:34 +0000 UTCI continue to hear stock podcasters be "amazed" how the economy shrugs off bad news...or are we watching mafia money enter our economy? We NEVER talk about that...but even during my CPA training...the instructor mentioned sometimes you can almost see the big moves in our stock market over the holidays...when funny money enters our economy. I find any commentary about how the stock market is different NOW vs the past interesting...as I am beginning to feel like I am living a version of The Milagro Beanfield War..visited my food forest this past weekend...where I watched that movie in my 20's...as Willie Nelson was begging us to tune into the big R of our farmers...he called it Farm Aid...I was partying on boats...traveling...consuming the speculators name branded products.....now I can barely find an affordable heirloom watermelon...when once they almost dripped off of the trees...I had to trash the last two unseeded ones I bought from Watermelonman...he warned me they were not "real" watermelons...he was right...they wound up in a compost pile...me worrying about what chemical residue the rejected melon may leave in my food forest... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyjU2b_BJkg

We may never be able to builf a machine that can replace us and this theory has good support in the fermi paradox. It would lead to infinite recursion and intelligence explosion. And if that was possible we would likely have seen evidence of it somewhere in the universe

I am working on eliminating all of our offshore 3rd world jobs with AI for instance. Software "engineer"? Lol no fucking way. We are so far away from that its not even funny. Coder? Yeah coders are fucking dead and buried. But coders arent software engineers. There is a reason we call them "code monkeys". This still makes up the vast majority of "tech" so its gonna hurt anyways. Most jobs are just stupid. AI is comparable with the move from Assembly to Basic.
