Port Strikes, Apple's Weak Demand And War In The Middle East

Comments

It has less to do with oil production than it does with transport. The Straights of Hormuz represent a natural shipping chokepoint for the Persian Gulf, just as Bab-el-Mandeb strait is a chokepoint for the Red Sea. Iran has already been documented as hitting oil tankers and oil terminals in 1987 with Chinese made Silkworm missiles. UAE and Saudi Arabia are on the Persian Gulf side of the straights, so if they can't get their oil out because Iran is shooting down their tankers, then it doesn't matter how much oil they produce. This is why the oil market reacted this morning to the news of hostilities.

Liar. Iran produces 3 million barrels a day. Saudi producers make 11 million barrels a day. The USA makes 12.3 million barrels a day. That would make Iran nothing. The uae production is at 7 million barrels per day. You don’t know shit about the oil market.
