I've been seeing this more and more with automotive parts. You spend extra thinking you're getting OEM parts and they turn out to be Chinese counterfeit garbage.

Long story short, when I was young I did plumbing for 4 years and Chinese fittings were starting to show up at plumbing supply houses and these copper parts, tools, ex.. were made so poorly it was shocking, they looked normal but performed as if they were counterfeit. I can only assume they do this for all trade industrial materials. That is why it became a premium to buy made in the USA.
