Hello Bruno! Great to have you! πŸ€— I've sent you a pm

Andrii

Hello! Im new here. How can i download the stl file to print?

Bruno Cordero

I use WinRAR. Works perfect so far. Please, let me know if it works for you

Andrii

having a hard time finding a converter that will do such large rar files to STL what do you people use?

chowiedoit .

I like the option you came up with. Should be looking interesting

Andrii

Yeah, that was something I considered trying to make (thicker support), but to keep the two ends the same dimension made it too hard for my limited 3D building skills to do. Too bad the brooms don't leave a smoke trail, that would've made for an easy base support then. Another idea I had would be to make this a wall mount, with a support coming out the back of the broom. Not as universally displayed, but could be an option to try.

Purple Ice

That's smart! Great solution. Next time I should definitely make flying model support thicker

Andrii

I ended up using a solid metal rod. It may not be as invisible as clear resin, but certainly holds up the model now. Flying models are always tricky things.

Purple Ice

Huge sorry for the late reply πŸ™Oh, sorry to hear that. Probably my bad. I should make it thicker for resin material

Andrii

Anyone printed this at the given scale? If so, have you had luck with the support holding the model up? Mine bends all the way over. I've tried the 2 clear resins I own with no luck. I welcome suggestions.

Purple Ice

Much appreciated! I honestly hadn't tried mixing supports, I generally just use autosupport. That and I learned recently the value of keeping my resin at the right temperature!

Chris

Thank you! ❀

Andrii

😊

Andrii

Thank you so much, Purple ❀

Andrii

Chris, I feel your pain. On delicate bits, use light supports (multiples if needed), or one medium with the tip barely penetrating. Then use cutters to carefully snip it after cleaning (but before final curing, so it’s not too brittle). I’m still learning the balance of supports, and since every piece has different demands, it’s hard to come up with a sure method. But keep in mind the areas that will be pulling the most tension during the print (ie have the most surface area in any given level). They will need more support, whereas light areas like hair strands don’t. I hope that helps.

Purple Ice

What do you use to remove the supports? I'm relatively new, and sick of either filling pock-marks with milliput or losing any thin details. I've only had success printing these with heavy supports, and it's rough.

Chris

Just finished printing the pieces for mine. Even at 1/6 scale, the hair is so fine, and the cape so thin! Exquisite work! I'm amazed I didn't ruin any of those details when removing the supports, but all looks great so far. Should be a great statue once finished! Oh, and those tiny straws at the back of the broom - I thought I got lucky and my supports just looked like straw where I broke them off. I don't think that any other artist would dare for such fine detailing. It adds so much to a model, so thank you!

Purple Ice

I've added a split version as well

Andrii

thank you

dean M hubbard

Please, let me know if you still can't get the files

Andrii

Ok, I'll split them πŸ‘

Andrii

the cape and the base are too big to print on my mars 3 any chance you could split them please

dean M hubbard

No problem for me

Thierry

The winzip files are empty for me on both versions. Anyone else have that problem?

Caleb

Well done! I see you decided to save yourself the trouble of redoing her as a walking pose. I'm sure they'll still all look great together, and this adds a bit more of the HP vibe to it.

Purple Ice

Great work Thank You

Thierry

Looks amazing! You are doing great work.

JoBen Griffiths

Sure! I'll make it 35mm tomorrow

Andrii

Any chance of getting it in 35mm size? Or one piece?

Michael
