Grrl Power #1346 - Flash Drive

Thank you for the support! You guys and grrls are awesome!

There was a part of me that thought this page would have been amusing with stick figure art, in a weird meta comic prank, because this page is a cameo debut that's been a long time coming, and to wait all that time and get stick figure art would be, well, kind of a shitty prank. So I went with regular art. Actually it's kind of the flat cell stuff combined with the more regular art I prefer, at least for the cameo bits. Just cause of the buildup about this being a "potential tantric event" and having a well shaded ass fit that better than a flat butt. An artistically flat butt I mean.

This is Opus the Poet's "Flash Drive," a speedster that takes advantage of that ancient Chinese secret, the bicycle. We know that bikes are Chinese because Chun-Li had them in her level. (Yes, I know they're probably a French invention, more or less, though the earliest bikes were a little MARK 0.1 compared to what we think of as a bicycle. Also, a lot of other "kind of a bicycle" things were invented in different times and places, but didn't catch on in a meaningful way.) Anyway, a speedster using a bike makes a lot of sense, unless the world doesn't have adamantium bikes or his powers don't extend into the bike, because I'm going to guess a stock Schwinn isn't going to be able to handle Mach 3 cornering. Also the centripetal forces would make the wheels explode as the friction turns them molten.

"Oh. Legs indeed." Just indicates that as fast as that guy is going, Maxima can still take a slow-motion look at him.

I would say using magnetic brakes would work .. like when you swing a big magnet at the copper block.. That resistance used to create breaking force. And air resistance flaps that can be engaged.

Sinestra

I know what the ladies like. Even one as staid as Max.

eddi_TBH

Your door dash will arrive before I can finish typing ths-dammit!

Marc Vun Kannon

Yeah, the guys on my stationary bike at home go on about that a lot, lol.

Michael Obert

Yes that is something cyclists are know for, great glutes.

Opus the Poet

Can't ticket what you can't see.

Opus the Poet

All natural, perfectly raised buns. No artificial ingredients.

Tristan N Milner

Like maybe since yesterday?

eddi_TBH

Some bicycle wheels have cast rims. Not as light but sturdy. Make 'em carbon fiber to match the frame.

eddi_TBH

With extra hot buns.

eddi_TBH

Running or biking super fast is not really a power ARC needs. On the other hand, he gets no complaints about cold food.

eddi_TBH

Can't ticket what you can't catch.

Alan Lewis

Can you blame her? I'm straight and even I think that butt is pure 🔥🔥🔥 😆

Michael Obert

On the other hand, whatever powers affect the bike also affect his clothing. If regular lycra can withstand the speed and wind his movement creates then aluminium - or carbon fiber if it's a high end racebike - doesn't have any issues.

Torsten K

OK, magnetic bearings, likely a variation of neodynium magnets. Shock absorption frame, likely carbon nanotubes for flexibility, bike "chain" is likely a hydraulic tube, operating with pair of Tesla Turbines as sprokets, again, using magnetic bearings. Spokes and wheels are likely a tungsten/titanium alloy for weight, durability and heat resistance, and the tires? Woven carbon nanotubes using nanoassemblers to repair wear and tear. The bike, as designed, would likely not have gearing, but a computerized electromagnetic "gearing" and energy storage system. Brakes would, likely, be electromagnetic, as most other materials would either vaporize from the wear, or weld to the wheels. Plus, being electromagnetic, it would allow conversion of the kinetic energy into storable electric energy, that would be stored in the ultra capacitors in the frame...

JasonAW3

Yes, but she definitely WANTS to feel it...

JasonAW3

OK, well, we know he must be exceptionally fast, as it's daylight where he us biking, and dark where Max and company are. How the heck does he avoid speeding tickets?

JasonAW3

Girl just ordered a whole bakery.

Tristan N Milner

the amount of engineering that would be needed for a speedster bike, Friction-less bearings, Vibration absorbing frame. Heat sinks. Carbon fiber reinforced solid state tires with titanium alloy wheel frames. And lets not even talk about Brakes.

Sinestra

Simple, get a recumbent bike and ride everywhere. I was doing about 50 miles a day in town, and over 100 miles a day out in the country city-to-city. I also used to visit my girlfriend up in Sherman once or twice a month for lunch, roughly 60 miles each way. Keep that up for 2 or 3 years and you'll have glutes like that. Make sure you have some hills to climb if the place you live doesn't have many.

Opus the Poet

J. J. A-buns.

Hugh Eckert

With feet of vibranium?

Hugh Eckert

I wish my backside was so sculpted I could get lens flare to reflect off it...

Pyromaniacal

Sorry for taking so many years to get there, but is Dabbler porn considered "Clop"?

Christopher Upton

I'm sure she sees them as strengths.

Stephen Gilberg

Ah, they found a use for all that adamantium/vibranium. A bicycle frame. Solid choice.

Gullindjemprins

Is this what they call a "build up"?

Town Crier

Oh, goody! It's 2008 me. And he's only capable of Mach 1 on the bike. Or roughly 250 km/hr on foot.

Opus the Poet

Golden Boy?

Andrew Denton

De googles informs me the bicycle was invented in Germany (Specifically the Duchy of Baden) in 1816 by Baron Karl von Drais. Labeled at the time the Laufmaschine (running machine) later to be known as the Draisienne (Dandy Horse). (Presented in Paris the next year) And it's the grip on the cornering that scares me before you even get up close to wheels exploding from centripetal (Or should that be centripedal in this instane?) force. :)

Justaguy

"I sense a disturbance in the Tantric Force; something I haven't felt in a very long time. . ."

Michael Obert

The shiny man buns. One of Dabbler's (many) weaknesses.

Playwars

Bicycles are forbidden from going over Mach 1 in residential areas.
