[Multiversal Empire] 14 – Concessions and Deals

It was in Paris that politicians, world leaders, and ambassadors all gathered within a large chamber before the Zerg Envoy, who calmly stood rigid on the stage, as still as a statue. Only when most of the seats were filled did the Envoy speak.

"It appears that Humanity was not united in purpose as we originally believed," The Envoy admonished the entire room, using a rather stern tone before continuing, "We have removed this threat against the Zerg, and wish to establish a Hive planetside within the capital of this...North Korea, in exchange, we will give away all territory we have occupied outside of the city to the nation's southern neighbor, South Korea, or as I assume, Korea, as it will now be known," The Envoy spoke, looking to the North Korean representative in the room.

At that declaration, an uproar took over the room, many voicing their opposition to the Zerg forming a Hive on Earth, let alone in a former Capital City.

"We will not harm the Humans in the city. We will morph into our Hive. To prove this, we offer that any Nation that wishes may send a small group of humans to the city to watch, observe, and question. We will not hide anything from you, nor will we do anything that will harm the fragile ecosystem of this planet. It is at our Hive that we also wish to begin our work in restoring your biosphere and teach all who want to learn from the Zerg and our methods," The Envoy started.

"The Zerg have also discussed amongst themselves, and we have given Humanity a year, a year to decide if they wish to assist us in the coming War in Heaven. During that time, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. When the time comes for Humanity to make its decision, if Humanity declines, the Zerg will freely leave the planet and do our best to draw away the enemies from this system when they awaken. If Humanity does accept our offer, we will begin assisting Humanity in achieving FTL capabilities and expanding its industry to an acceptable level while working with Humanity in other regards that we will not share until we know your answer," The Envoy stated loud enough and clear enough for everyone to have heard and understood.

From there, the Envoy looked to the South Korean Representative and asked to speak with them after the meeting regarding the transfer of all assets, captives, and resources the Zerg had collected from the North Koreans. Many still harbored disagreements with the Zerg over establishing a Hive, but not nearly enough voices were raised to prompt the Envoy to listen or respond. However, the stronger nations in attendance, who saw the carnage the Zerg wrought upon their enemies, realized just how dangerous the bug-like aliens were, especially on the field, as the Zerg showed themselves capable of tunneling under structures with little effort, as well as deploying creatures that would tear apart Tanks and Infantry and flying creatures that swarmed anything that dared to attack the Zerg from the Sky.

Some countries actually seemed to welcome the Zerg in establishing a 'Hive' on Earth, one of which was a rising nation in South Africa under the control of what many would call a Warlord who sought to unite all of Africa under a single, united banner. Though the Zerg's actions also brought a great deal of goodwill from the very rivals of the North Koreans, the South Koreans.

A few nations, however, seemed especially angered by the Zerg, most specifically, China, Russia, India, and Israel, who claimed that the Aliens were demons in disguise who wished to corrupt Humanity and draw them away from God. Behind closed doors, many countries began holding private meetings.

...

While part of my consciousness inhabited the Envoy and began speaking with the South Korean Representative, a majority of my consciousness was focused on expanding my Swarm. I instructed one of the Brood Mothers to start working on digging out what would become our only Hive on the Planet beneath the Capitol under our control.

Unlike the other Hives I've made, the tunnel network would take the shape of a strange upside-down tree, with the planned 'tip' being the most protected and difficult location to reach, and home to the future Brood Mothers I morphed on Earth. Each 'branch' of this underground tree would serve as an arm and path to expand in the future in an emergency. This Hive would be the furthest from being the largest of the Hives I have made so far, should, if the planet be invaded, be capable of producing enough Zerg War-Forms to combat the Reapers and their forces planetside while providing a sort of bunker for a small portion of humanity in case of an Extinction scenario.

But that was only for Earth; the rest of my consciousness was doubling my expansion efforts when it came to the swarm.

As I now knew I had time, I focused all my resources on building more ships to colonize the systems surrounding Crèche, while also doubling my efforts to expand my Bio-Computer clusters across Crèche.

If before I was working at about 50% of my total capacity, conserving resources in case of an ongoing War in Heaven, I'd at least have the resources I needed to drag it out as long as possible, using my stockpiled energy and biomass, but now that I knew I had time, I put the energy and mass into use. I estimated that within the next five years, I'd have around two dozen new hives on new planets in every nearby system surrounding the Zerg Home system. That number would only exponentially grow as my new Hives grew in size and eventually became capable of morphing their own ships.

Although a portion of my Bio-Computers focused on experimenting with metals, ores, and alloys to make them as similar in appearance to the metal the Protos loved to use in the creation of their cities, armor, ships, and every other facet of their lives, to keep up the appearance of the story I told Humanity, I'd need to fabricate a destroyed civilization.

To keep the resources low-key, I planned to find a distant system without life, select an appropriate celestial body, and hurl a large enough asteroid at the planet to cause it to crumble into pieces. Across those crumbling pieces, I'd leave very sparse signs of evidence of a supposed Protoss civilization.

Part of my consciousness wondered why I was going to such lengths to make the story seem authentic to Humanity, and that same small part of my consciousness delved deeper into my mind to find out why.
