[God of Games] 10 – Big Boss Kronk, Biggest Rat of them All

Big Boss Kronk was the biggest rat! He had grown to tower over all other rats, and he was smart! Yet, his God, who must have been the biggest rat of all, had seen fit to uplift his subordinates, who became big rats too! They were not even close to Big Boss Kronk's size, but they grew just like him! He forbade his lesser from choosing the same class as him, as he was the strongest rat! Though the strangest of his lesser was a Rat that called itself the Prophet, for it could supposedly hear his God just like Big Boss Kronk!

And as much as Kronk wanted to smash this small rat, his God demanded he not! Not that Konk did not try to smash the small rat anyway, only for the rat to call forth a strange white light that formed a shield around itself.

This strange rat called itself Skrit, Priest of the God of Games.

[Sirus’s POV]

I will admit that I did not mean to gain a third follower so soon, but Kronk boasted about obtaining my blessings, and one of the rats ended up praying to me, giving me a small amount of faith.

Once I had enough Divine Energy, I blessed the rat and named him Skrit, as well as made a deal with the rat.

I’d give him a class if he converted at least five other Skaven to my belief, which he did with next to no issue.

Though what did surprise me is that the Rat chose to become a Priest instead of one of the other classes I had currently available, and man, was Skrit going to be useful.

\=======+=======/

Skrit’s status was rather…impotent at the moment, but with its two skills, it could heal and burn with a touch, as well as summon a shield to defend itself.

I designed the class to be a support class and a weapon against demons, as it utilized Divine Skills that would be far more effective against Demons than most other skills.

I also designed classes to be able to surpass level 100 and evolve. I planned to use the Priest archetype to help alleviate some of the burden, as eventually the Priests of my religion would be able to cast my own minor blessings on others of my faith, which meant Priests would be one of the most critical components of my makeshift and budding system.

For a priest to cast these blessings would be…expensive, as converting mana into Divine Energy is very inefficient, so Priests would likely only be able to cast these blessings once or twice a year.

There was also a more…notable advantage of being a Priest Class; it made it far cheaper to send messages to them via Divine Energy, which meant that Priests would also be my messengers, as the Archetype was notable for.

Through Skrit, I gave my commands to Kronk and his followers. For now, I instructed Kronk to continue what he was doing, beating the other Skaven bosses and growing his horde, with the ultimate goal of becoming the King of the Skaven.

Once that was done, I’d initiate the next step of my plan, which was to found my first and official religion through the Skaven, before working on expanding the religion to the surface dwellers.

Speaking of the surface, Otis, too, has finally reached level fifteen, and I blessed him with a class selection, which, of course, he chose to be a Rogue, go figure.

Who would have thought that a past thief and beggar would choose a class synonymous with those two lifestyles?

As for the Rogue’s starter class skills, I gave it [Shadow Step Lvl 1], [Backstab Lvl 1], and [Hawk Eyes Lvl 1].

Shadow Step would allow them to use MP to jump to a shadow in sight, Backstab would make a backstab do critical damage, and Hawk Eyes sharpened their senses for a time.

As for what critical damage it did, it was a specialized blood magic that used the stab victim’s own mana to make their blood rupture, with higher levels of the skill doing more.

The way skills worked was that the system would take control of the person for a split second to cast the spell manually, though the user wouldn’t notice or feel it happen.

This does mean that anyone can cast the spell or magic regardless of the class they chose if they knew what they were doing, but they would not get any assistance from the System.

Although I may add a feature to the system in the future that allows users to register techniques or spells, this would enable the system to learn new spells and techniques passively over time.

I had a lot of work to do, as my followers were not the only ones working tirelessly. What faith I gained from their worship I invested into manuals for spells and magic, that’s how I obtained some of the starter skills in the archetypes, while one was of my own creation.

Mighty Blow, which essentially floods the user’s body with mana and uses 100% of their muscles, costing the user a lot of stamina, though not much, if any, mana. Overuse of this skill would damage the muscle, but it was designed to be a power booster, one that worked.

I was also experimenting with magic to try to create new skills, but it wasn’t easy; most of my experiments ended in failure or just sparks. However, I was making progress with elemental spells and basic holy spells.

I seemed to have no specific affinity with any type of magic, like I was a blank slate. No one Magic was easier or harder to learn or use than any other. What I read was that every living being had an affinity for certain types of magic and no affinity for others. Such as a God of Fire being especially good with Fire Spells but terrible with Ice, and a God of Death being good with Undead, Dark, Black, or Hex Magic but not anything considered ‘Light.’

I’d need to grab magic of kinds to know for sure, but already my affinity, or lack of one, could very well give me an advantage, one that I plan to use.
