[Encanto] 27 – Birth of a Golden Tree

As it turns out, a lot of people needed help. From the poor farmer with bad knees, mercenaries with light to grievous wounds, to even the occasional Companion who needed a patch up after a job. The head priestess of this little hospital was below me in rank when it came to Restoration magic, so I was getting swamped by people whom Danicia could not heal.

I started getting so fed up with it, I stepped towards Danicia, who was using Greater Healing to heal the wounds of a mercenary who seemed to have several terrible injuries across his entire body.

With a wave of my hand, a pulse of golden energy flooded the man's body, healing him of all injuries.

"I need to cast a spell, it will require a lot of concentration, don't let anyone disturb me," I warned Danicia before stepping away and heading for the center of the building, and taking a seat directly in the middle of the four tables that were empty of patients.

What I was about to do bordered on the realm of a Master-level spell, one that would likely put me out for a while or straight up knock me out if I fail the casting of the spell, so I needed Danicia to keep the others quiet so that they wouldn't bother me.

When I sat down, I shifted my posture into that of a Lotus pose and took a deep breath, calling for the inhuman amount of Magicka within me. With extreme care, I began molding the Magicka and shaping it into two directions.

At the base of the spell would be the core, which would be where the most crucial component of the spell would be located, as well as the battery to hold the magicka. Once the magicka was condensed into the core, I began to draw forth dozens of tendrils upwards into the sky, making 'branches' from which the spell would be able to gather energy from the Aetherus at night and the sun in the day.

As I shaped these branches, I formed golden leaves, the magicka gatherers for the spell. Then, I began working back down the tendrils that made up the branches, reinforcing and thickening them to allow for a more stable transfer of the gathered magicka from the leaves directly to the core.

From the core, I began shaping even more tendrils downwards, forming 'roots' that would act as the 'release' for the spell. So strong was my focus that I didn't notice the quiet whispers and sheer awe radiating from the presence of all those that watched as a beautiful golden tree began to form before my body, with branches that reached towards the ceiling and what windows the building had, before roots began to coil down form the trunk of the tree, spilling out around the ground and creating a vast network from which the spell would activate its primary purpose, healing. Slow, but powerful restoration magic on the scale of Grand Healing, capable of slowly restoring old injuries, missing limbs, and providing miracles and cures the likes of which would only be seen by the Masters of Restoration Magic.

Before even two minutes had passed, I had used the equivalent of two Archmage's worth of Magicka from my own body to fuel and form the Golden Tree before me, and by the fifth minute that turned to five Archmage's worth of Magicka filling the air before, condensing into an ornate and beautiful tree that glowed gold.

As I formed the tree, I gave a small prayer, a prayer that echoed with the sound of thunder from the sheer amount of magicka that radiated from my being.

"Here me, Old Gods of Skyrim, bless this tree so that it may save those whose time has not yet arrived, bless this tree so that those who have not experiences all of the joys of life may have a second chance, bless this tree so that the mighty Nords of Skyrim who fight against tyranny and against the enemy of all life may heal and recover, so that they can fight to their fullest before feasting in the halls of Sovngarde.

Shor, bless this tree so that the warriors destined to feast in your halls may have a second chance to prove their worth and place in the halls of Sovngarde.

Tsun, bless this tree so that those who will soon meet their end may try their might against yours without fear of old injuries holding them back.

Stuhn, bless this tree so that the Nords may have another chance to take what was theirs by right.

Kyne, bless this tree so that the Nords have another chance at life.

Mara, bless this tree so that Husbands and Wives may return to their loved ones hale and healthy.

Dibella, bless this tree so that fair Maidens no longer need to fear the suffering of scaring, burns, and disfiguring of their beauty.

Orkey, bless this tree so that the Nords may live as long as the Nords of Old.

Akatosh, bless this tree so that your future champions and kin may have a place to heal and rest without the worry of the weight on their shoulders.

Ysmir, bless this tree so that the Nords never have to fear the oppression of Elvenkind ever again.

Herma-Mora, bless this tree so that Scholars and Sages alike may continue to share knowledge and ideas to fill your great libraries."

I ignored the shouts of awe, fear, and disbelief that came around me and finalized the spell, pouring so much magicka into my construct that the very air around us began to vibrate and shine even brighter as the Golden Tree became a miniature sun within the small building for a moment.

When I finally let go and released the spell fully, I opened my eyes.

Before me lay my own version of the Erdtree, a giant tree of glittering gold, filled with majestic beauty, and I noted sigils that seemed to burn themselves into the semi-transparent bark of the tree.

I recognized the sigils and images of the Old Nordic Gods of Skyrim before me. I bowed to the Gods that answered my call and gave a small prayer of thanks before clenching my teeth as my veins felt like they were on fire due to the massive quantities of mana that poured through my veins. Still, that pain quickly faded as the roots crawled across my form and began to pump small but visible streams of healing magic into my body, flooding me with relief as the pain faded away.

Although I created something truly unique, and it would cause me a lot of trouble in the next few hours, I let out a small smile at my creation and wondered what else I'd create in the future with the Magic gifted to me by a small magical candle worlds away.
