[Cafe] 105 – Second Round Results Part 1

[Tyke's POV]

Upon the last week, I was as equipped and prepared as I could be, having made myself two different rifles, a simple pistol, and carried a sword, while my form was wrapped in a camouflage cloak over Desert Cloth to protect me from the heat, while also making it harder for anyone to see me through the heat waves and vast desert hills and dunes.

The massive Sandstorm that surrounded the Desert forced me towards the Red Obelisk, my form perched atop a boulder along the mountains, the scope of my longneck rifle peering out into the valley. In the distance I could see the Wyvern Rider flying through the skies, looking for the others that hid around the Obelisk.

Only six of us remained; I had seen some of the others but refrained from taking the shot even now, as I did not want to reveal my position or draw the ire of the wyvern rider. The Wyvern Rider wore a full suit of Flak and seemed to have enough fortitude to endure the scorching heat that was getting worse as the Sandstorm closed in on us, meaning he was likely not as invested in the other essential attributes. If I could somehow take out or distract the Wyvern, I could remove the Rider as a threat, but it was difficult, as the Rider only dismounted his Wyvern when they needed water, as the Wyvern was fully capable of cooking meat with its fire.

For now, I'd remain hidden, patient. I had enough water and food to sit this out until the last day, and my position up on this boulder against the mountain prevented the remaining beasts from reaching me.

['Whisky,' Logan's POV]

I've lived a long time. Enough to generations grow, have children, and then die. I participated in every known major war, including the Civil War, World War 1 and 2, and Vietnam, yet none of that I have experienced could help me with what I face now. I was mortal. I did not heal like I should, nor did I have my claws or metal bones.

When I first heard the 'boss' was hosting a tournament, I decided to give it a try, as even now, Charles remained unconscious and secure in Kamar-Taj, under the oversite of a Master with no apparent signs of waking up anytime soon, something I was both glad and angry about. Charles had a lot to answer for, but he remained in a coma. Despite how terrible Charles was as a man, he kept the children and teenagers at the school safe from the government and SHIELD. With Charles and I gone, the old team was locked down in the mansion, hiding from the world as they lost the protection provided by Charles, but with a deal with the Ancient One, the school would be safe for, at most, a few more months.

This deal? I was to become a student at the Monastery and spend the rest of my days protecting the Earth. These duties wouldn't take up all of my time, however, as I planned on returning to the School when I was ready and freeing everyone else from Charles's control. Even now, the Ancient One continued to oversee Charles, slowly weakening and dampening his power and the control he had over it. By the time Charles woke up, he would be able to walk again but unable to use much of his powers anymore. He'd be as close to a regular man as a mutant could be, though the Ancient One warned me that Charles may still try to revert back to his old shtick even with his loss in strength.

Shaking my head, I focused back on my surroundings. Even now, I hid within some tallgrass as a Wyvern flew above me. I had an assault rifle in hand, and while I was tempted to charge out and start shooting, I remained still, letting the fire-breathing flier pass me by. If there's one thing that my experiences taught me, it's that fighting against something that can fly is exceptionally annoying and very dangerous.

Too bad I didn't have a rocket launcher to blast the thing out of the sky.

[Sheogorath's POV]

Deep within one of countless Shivering Isles, a Mad God of Cheese cackled and laughed as he watched his Champion be chased by a tiny 'Dragon' called a Wyvern. This Dova, unrelated to Akatosh, was a mere beast, yet one with a Cunning Rider who ruthlessly directed the Wyvern over his Champion's beast horde. Its mundane fire turned all it touched into charred flesh or ash.

Ever since he found that his reality was but a d̴͚͠ȓ̷̯̌̔̈͌̑́̔̓̕͘͝ę̴̈́̑̅a̶̢̢̟͇̝̝̖̖̫̲̰̐͒͑̐̈͛ͅm̸̢̧̠͍͔̠͕̣͚͑͜, old man Sheo found a new passion in watching the world outside the Dream, something that was straight out of an insane man's mind with how much chaos and strange things he witnessed through his Champion's eyes.

['The Best Clown,' Harley Quinn's POV]

"Fuck you!" Harley screamed as she fired her assault rifle into the air towards the Wyvern, burning her dinos to death. The coward on the Wyvern continuously did hit-and-run tactics; with each pass by, they let out a fire breath that burned a few of her Dinos to death. Yet with each sweep the Wyvern did, Harley managed to tear a few more holes into the Wyvern's hide, causing copious amounts of blood to start dropping from its wounds.

Yet her rifle did minor damage as it didn't take long for Harley to run out of ammo and was forced to flee, cursing in anger upon the back of her fastest remaining mount, a Terror Bird. Yet even the jump scare bird itself couldn't outrun a Wyvern, and with sheer indignation, she sent one last message to the Wyvern Rider, a middle finger.

[Validia's POV]

Forced to land his wyvern after the injuries it suffered, Validia spared a glance at his gained loot, a few guns, blood elixirs, and food, all things he gained from hunting down the other players across Scorched Earth.

Yet while he ate his food and quenched his thirst from the Oasis he landed by, he flinched as the sound of rustling came nearby, as a man charged out of the tall grass, gun leveled with his body, and with a pop, Validia knew no more, and his Wyvern was sent into a blind rage at the lost of its rider and tamer.

[Logan's POV]

Cursing as a pissed-off Wyvern chased after him, Logan turned around and shot again, miraculously bursting the eye of the Wyvern flying after him, causing it to loudly roar out in pain and only fly after him even faster, slamming its wings into his body, sending him rolling onto the ground as the Wyvern landed and was about to crush him beneath its talons, if not for a Carnosarurs charging in, ramming its horns into the side of the Wyvern, knocking it off balance and distracting it long enough for Logan to escape.

...

Another day passed, and the eye of the Sandstorm shrank even further, forcing the remaining players out of their hiding spots. One player died to Tyke, who kept the high ground, searching for enemies to take out with his rifle.

Another day passed, and the Zone shrank more, forcing the remaining three players to confront one another. Despite being injured, Logan was not the first to go, as the unknown third bit the dust to Tyke's rifle, leaving Logan and Tyke to confront one another under the Red Obelisk the following day.

It was a fierce clash, filled with many moments where either of the Players could have quickly died, but in the end, Tyke made a mistake; he ran out of ammo, leaving Logan as the victor of Round 2 A.
