[Avatar] 2 – The First Morning

When I awoke the following morning, my body felt stiff beyond belief due to the shity beds they gave us. I groaned and grunted as I stretched, climbing out from my bed, only to freeze in place as I was met with a scene I was certainly not expecting.

The Twi'Lek, naked and wearing nothing but her birthday suit, wet and frozen in place as if a deer before headlights, having just taken a shower to clean herself and preparing to dress herself in the robes we were given. I do not know how I remained calm, but it was difficult for me to turn my gaze. Instead, I hummed in appreciation at the sight before me, causing the Twi'lek girl to blush and squeal, rushing back into the bathroom with robes in hand.

Shaking my head, I pulled up my status screen.

Finding no changes, I merely reexamined my only 'skill.'

/=======+=======\

Lesser Force Sensitivity

  Type: Passive Skill

  Level: 25/100

  Description: A trait rare to life within the        Universe that grants an entity a connection with the 'Force.' With time, training, and will, this connection can allow an entity to bring forth abilities many would consider magical or unnatural.

  With time, an entity or race can grow this connection with the force through various methods with varying effects, from meditation to evolution.

Your sensitivity to the Force can dampen or strengthen your Force Powers and limit their growth.

  As you have reached a milestone with the skill, 'perks' are available.

\=======+=======/

I raised an eyebrow. Perk? That's new...

Reaching out, I tapped the sentence, and a new screen blossomed to life before me.

/=======+=======\

-[Lesser Force Sensitivity]-

 For reaching your first milestone with the skill, you may select one of the following perks.

Hereditary — Your connection to the Force has become hereditary, allowing all descendants of yours a connection, no matter how small, to the Force.

 Insight — Your connection to the Force hones in on your surroundings, giving you a greater sense of what's around you at all times.

Mental Shield — Your mind becomes more attuned to the Force, providing an innate shielding against Compulsion, Telepathy, and other unwanted cognitive abilities channeled through the Force towards your mind.

\=======+=======/

Interesting...The first perk was not really all that good to me when compared to the other two options. The second gave me an innate awareness of my surroundings, a skill that could prove a life savior in combat and other situations I may find myself in, while the third would give me a decent defense against Force powers that targeted the mind, my mind.

Sighing, I flipped a mental coin and made my choice: Mental Shield. The sanctity of my mind was more important than the safety of my body for now, and if need be, I'll be able to make up for that shortcoming with training and raw power.

The instant I selected the perk, I felt everything change, I felt as though I was being embraced by a warm and loving hug. I let out a sigh of content as I felt the warmth soak into my body, through my muscles and deep into my bones.

That’s when I heard the Twi’lek open the door of the bathroom, exiting fully clothed and blushing up a storm, certainly wasn’t expecting to see such vibrant purple on her blue cheeks.

I merely shrugged at her embarrassment, it’s not my fault she decided to get dressed next to a sleeping unknown man.

I stood up from my bed, disrobing myself and ignoring her stare as I walked into the bathroom naked as the day this body was born.

The bathroom was simple in design, merely having a sink, toilet, and walk-in shower. Stepping into the shower, I turned the shower nob and was blasted by warm water for a mere few seconds before it shit off,  leaving me soaking wet.

Stepping back out of the shower, I walked back into the room and got dressed, not minding the stare I was getting from the Twi’lek.

It’s only been a few days, but I was already used to this new body of mine and its memories. He…I, was a slave in a mine on some remote planet. We got a surprise visit from some Sith Knight, and it’s that very night I saw for a few moments that sent me on my way to Korriban to be trained as a Sith. My body, was strong but battered.

I was constantly hungry and starving in the mines, but I had a bit of muscle on this body of mine, but I’d still need to put in quite a bit more work if I wanted to get my physique to where I wanted.

Once I had the time, I planned on getting my routine up and running with my flexibility training and cardio. For now though, as I got dressed, I wanted to get a handle on my newfound abilities. Starting with learning the basic techniques all Force users knew and used.

“Let’s go,” I spoke up, turning around to meet the eyes of the Twi’lek girl.

Stepping out of our quarters, with the Twi’lek quietly following behind me, we were met with some of the others in our group already out of the rooms, waiting.

“Are we the only ones up?” I asked the others.

“So far,” someone spoke up.

“Then let’s wake the others. I for one don’t want to find out what our punishment could be if not all of us show,” I spoke up.

“And who let you be in charge,” a Zabrack with only two horns sticking out of their bald head asked with a scoff.

“Are you stupid?” I retorted.

“Excuse me?” The Zabrack asked angrily, stepping forward to confront me.

I couldn’t show weakness.

“I asked if you were stupid. Are you also hard of hearing?” I stepped up, our chests mere inches apart, my eyes drilling into his.

It helped that I was six feet tall and taller than him, as he backed down with a scoff and snarl. Ignoring the man, I turned around and walked up to one of the still-occupied quarters, knocking very loudly to wake the people inside before proceeding to do the same with all the other occupied quarters.

I knew my actions would cause the others to start seeing me as a leader, which is not something I really wanted, as I was willing to bet, once they started turning into real Sith, that these people would begin challenging me, try to backstab or ambush me, and who knows what else to prove themselves superior or 'stronger.' I was in a den of snakes, not that these hatchlings knew that yet, and I was willing to pay for their foolishness. Besides, while I didn't want to become a target, I realized that it would help by acting as a barrier, keeping some of them from acting against me for at least a few weeks until they believed they were ready or strong enough.

I may be a bit paranoid, but seeing where and when I was, I felt it was necessary. It was only a matter of time until the Sith influenced these annoyances into their way of thinking, which meant I had a headstart at gaining recognition and strength while they struggled to adapt. Sure, I might struggle a bit myself, but I'd try to push through.

With a few years of my first life being that of a soldier, I was well used to taking life, but I had no experience in torture, something that I knew they'd have us do to 'hone' us into decent weapons for the Empire. I'd have to pass their 'tests' with flying colors if I wanted to be anything other than cannon fodder for their military.

As the others stumbled out of their rooms, I did a quick head count before turning around and making my way down the hall.

I was surprised to find the Twi'lek to be the first to follow me, causing me to shake my head. She'd need to shake off that follower mindset if she wanted to be something in the Empire. Though this could very well be a boon for me, having a minion to do my bidding would undoubtedly take a few loads off my back in the coming months, but enough about that. We had a meeting with our Instructor. It was time to learn how to use the Force.
