[Streamer] 1 – Battle of New York Part 1

Synopsis: Suddenly dropped in the Chitauri Invasion of New York, Daniel Lewis fights to survive; the only difference is that some spectators are watching his life and journey, offering some rewards in exchange for entertainment.

==[Chapter Begins]==

[Stream: Untitled]

[Viewers: 10]

[The Conquerer of the Stars looks upon the strange mortal city with an indifferent stare]

[The Keeper of the Balance grows curious as to what the screen before him is]

[The Blood God looks upon the scene with excitement]

[The Changer of Ways looks upon the screen confused]

[The Great Lord of Decay looks upon the screen with dismissal]

[The Prince of Excess moans upon seeing the excessive violence on screen]

[The Golden Emperor Entombed Upon a Throne looked upon the screen with sudden awareness]

[The Lamb looks upon the screen with indifference as she watches humans flee for their lives]

[The Wolf looks upon the screen with excitement at the potential hunt]

[The Mad God of Cheese laughed in delight at the new show before his eyes]

On the screen before the ten figures was a scene of battle and carnage. Before their eyes, New York City was invaded by an alien force. These aliens attacked and killed everything in sight, mowing down rows of civilians with their advanced energy weapons. Yet, the focus point of the stream was a lone figure crouched behind a taxi, taking cover from the attacking aliens.

[The Blood God grows annoyed by the cowardice of the streamer]

"Fuck off! You try fighting these things with nothing but a fucking pencil!" The lone figure whispered back in anger, something the figures heard with extreme clarity despite the volume of the battle happening around the figure.

[The Golden Emperor Entombed Upon A Throne looks upon the city with confusion and nostalgia]

[The Blood God questions what the cowardly streamer will do about the coming ground forces]

Cursing, the man, no older than 20, peaked over the car to see a group of four of the aliens leaping onto cars and walking down the street, roaring and screeching.

[The Blood God smiles upon seeing the Streamer's fear and offers a gift]

[The Blood God has gifted one rusty sword!]

With a small flash of red light, an old, rusted sword appears in the air and falls to the ground.

[The Blood God beckons the Streamer to grab the blade]

[The Golden Emperor Entombed Upon A Throne looks upon The Blood God with disgust and beckons the Streamer to resist the Blood God's call]

Gritting his teeth, the man weighed his options before reaching out for the blade and taking hold of it.

Grasping the blade, the man leaned against the car he hid behind, waiting in ambush of the alien soldiers that were advancing towards his position.

[The Blood God has issued a challenge]

[Defeat all four Alien Soldiers - Reward: Minor Blessing]

Not even noticing the pop-up, the man gripped the sword tightly as the aliens crept closer and closer. When the closest alien jumped upon the taxi, the man leaped up from the cover, swinging the sword in hand, cutting clean through the alien's leg, sending it tumbling down from the taxi with a screech, alerting the others.

As the alien slid off the taxi and down to the man, he raised the sword and stabbed it right into the alien's chest, and the others began firing at the taxi. Ducking down behind the taxi, he looked down at the alien corpse and the strange weapon on the alien's arm and grabbed it, pulling the alien's arm out.

With the alien rifle in hand, the man suddenly leaped from the side of the car, shooting one of the aliens in the shoulder, making it stumble back. He then jumped back as the other two rushed towards him.

Having an idea, he placed the sword on the ground and kicked it as hard as he could behind the vehicle, getting the alien's attention as he leaped out from the front of the car and gunned the aliens down while they were distracted.

Breathing heavily as the adrenaline flooded his system, the Streamer froze when a new screen appeared before him.

[Congratulations on completing the challenge!]

[Issuing Reward: Bloodlust (Minor)]

[Bloodlust (Minor) - With each blood spilled, gain a minor boost to strength]

[The Blood God smiles in glee at the blood spilled before him]

"Wha-" The streamer began before something whizzed past his head, making him drop to the ground as he saw more of the aliens rushing down the street and from the walls of the nearby buildings.

Cursing and paling in fear, the man looked upon the scene with terror, knowing that more than two dozen of the same aliens would soon be upon him.

Getting up on his feet, he realized he had only one option: if he wanted to survive, he needed to run.

Grabbing the rusted sword, the man looked at the surrounding buildings, seeing what was clearly an apartment not far away. He could easily lose the aliens if he needed to or at least find somewhere to bunker until the battle was over.

Just as he tensed and readied himself to run, he suddenly froze as one of the flying alien speeders flew overhead.

Looking down, the man was met with a terrifying scene: a vaporized hole through his chest, right above his heart. Barely any blood could seep out due to the cauterized wound, and what little did began to seep out from the hole, staining his clothes and skin.

Suddenly coughing blood, the man's legs began to give out, and he collapsed to the ground on his knees.

Grasping the air in front of his chest, the man heaved and heaved before his very heart gave out on him, and his body fell to the ground.

[The Lamb beckons the soul to its eternal rest]

[The Wolf growls, satisfied that the soul sought to fight for its continued existence]

As the ten figures looked upon the dead human and the aliens that advanced towards it, they were briefly surprised when they noticed a faint dark glow under the human's shirt.

It was a strange circular symbol resting on the human's back, glowing like the dying embers of a fire.

[Darksign Activated]

[The Lamb and The Wolf watch the scene with curiosity]

Reaching out to grab the sword that clattered to the ground, the hole within the corpse's chest regenerated with a glow of embers, repairing the body in full. As if a zombie, the corpse climbed to its feet, clearly confused by what just happened, only for the said corpse to once again receive a fatal injury as an alien's spear pierced through his chest, skewering him.

[Darksign Activated]

[The Wolf, The Blood God, and The Mad God of Cheese grin in excitement at the battle ahead]

...

Across the city, countless others fought back against the Alien invasion, ranging from armed citizens, gangbangers, veterans, the police, and so many more. Six figures were at the battle's focal point: the Hulk, Blackwidow, Iron Man, Thor Odinson, Hawkeye, and Captain America. The Avengers.

The Hulk did what he did best: he smashed, killing dozens of Aliens wherever he landed, even taking down a Leviathan by himself. A Leviathan is a heavily armored and flying shark-like creature with a razor-sharp maw that could crush cars in its jaws. It also carried dozens more aliens within its body who leaped off and onto nearby buildings as the Leviathan destroyed every building it clipped with its armored fins. Nearly a dozen of these creatures were attacking New York, with more coming out from the portal that floated high above the city, revealing open space and what was clearly a space station of some kind, the origin point of the aliens, clearly.

Blackwidow, Hawkeye, and Captain America took the fight to the aliens on the ground. Hawkeye shot down every alien speeder that caught his attention from atop a skyscraper. Blackwidow and Captain America remained in the streets, rescuing and evacuating civilians as they worked together with the Police to fight against the aliens.

Thor and Iron Man controlled the skies, attacking Leviathans and Speeders.

As Captain America and Blackwidow fought in the streets of New York, Captain America received a message from Stark, from Iron Man.

"Cap, there's fighting going on a block away from you. Whatever is happening over there draws a lot of the little guys!" Iron Man shouted over comms as he tirelessly fought against the aliens.

Steve Rogers, Captain America, knew that if something was drawing in the Chitauri, the aliens, it could only mean one thing: someone else was fighting, and they were in trouble, "I'm on my way!"

Steve felt his muscles burn and exhaustion start to take effect. He had been at this for over an hour, and even someone with his physique could tire, but he was far from giving up; people still needed him; after all, he could do this all day.
