lil extra Dnd tidbits: Simon as a paladin of the Sea had the fog cloud effect active, which should obscure him from sight, yet, mr. headpriest made direct eyecontact before casting Disintegration - Still, Simon only just managed to make his save, dodged out of the way - luckily so, because even at max HP, he'd most likely be rendered to dust if hit.
The extra tragic thing is, his narrative is going in a direction that lays a lot of value on respecting your choice of resting place after death, so this spell is just horrifying in every regard-
