Rn I'm freehanding these! A lot of figure drawing / gesture drawing / practicing anatomy and many hours spent trying to improvise various wacky poses for commissions have helped a lot in learning how to draw from imagination / Tho ofc having some visual memory of what the human body looks like from vaguely similar angles is still helping- I'm still planning to eventually draw some pieces off of proper reference, and for those I'm planning to try my luck browsing porn videos and taking a bunch of screenshots - I already have a feeling it'd be hard to just work off of singular shots from photoshoots :'0 So much variety in camera angles and nuance in body-positions can influence the feel of the posing - And you might want to mix different poses thogether to make a more appealing end-result. But if you're still a bit hardpressed with working off of reference, I'll say I myself am trying to allow myself to be a bit less perfectionist - I've seen NSFW art that looks stellar, but upon trying to analyze the details of it, only then I realize that realistically, the posing would not work / limbs would be cutting into each other, or just kinda disappear - But the art still works as a whole! So I'd say especially with intimate work like this, you could allow yourself to put more importance into the "Expression" of the posings/arrangements, rather than the realism of it - a lot of it is about trying to capture the feeling behind the positioning, the motion of it - tho in that regard again, videos can be useful material to look at hAH, trying to figure out the purpose of a certain pose; which limbs are carrying the weight, which body parts are put in motion, do the thighs need to be lifted for leverage? Or is it the motion just coming from the hips? Like no joke, my recommendation is; have a sit down and watch porn for educational purposes :'DD
