[The Lewd Traveler] 3 – My Path and Class

[Skill: Charm has leveled up! x4]

[Skill: Empathy has leveled up! x5]

[Resistance: Exhaustion has leveled up! x3]

[Skill: Sex has leveled up! x14]

[You have gained 26 Path Points!]

'Path...Points?' I wondered to myself, surprised to find myself suddenly in a dark expanse of nothingness.

I tried moving or turning around, but I couldn't, it was as if I was tied down into a chair and forced to stare forward.

With a sudden movement, my body suddenly surged forward, until I found myself standing before a fork in a dirt road.

There were three paths before me, one that went left, one that went right, and the last that kept going.

Focusing on the left path, I was surprised to see the forest and area around the road begin to fluctuate and change.

[The Path of Might - 0/10]

Armies battling each other with swords and shields, Vikings charging onto the shore with axes raised high, martial artists battling for supremacy, blacksmiths hammering away at metal, and so much more flashed before my eyes within a single moment.

Then I looked to the right-most path.

[The Path of Mind - 0/10]

Wizards slinging spells across a battlefield, Priests healing grievous wounds, enchanters and mages creating entire cities overnight, and so much more.

Then there was the last path. The one in the middle.

[The Path of Might, Mind, and Soul]

Spellblades threw around magic with one hand while they attacked everything around them with a weapon in the other, Barbarians enhanced their strength with magic while wielding massive greatswords and clubs, Witches tore the souls of their victims, Warlocks that summoned demons, and so much more.

[Only one path can be chosen, which will you choose?]

So...if the images were anything to go by, the Path of Might would essentially be equivalent to the path of the Warrior, while the mind path would be the path of the Mage and Magic.

Then there was the last path...a hybridization of both of the other paths.

I didn't have to think. Why specialize in one when I could do both, even if I would not exactly be a master in either?

This was Cyberpunk, I couldn't afford to specialize in the two side paths, or I'd only be a one-trick pony and end up dead on the streets eventually. There were too many unknowns. What if one of the paths prevented me from getting or using any more Cyberware? Or from using guns? I had a game-like system, I could not afford to think that everything would be realistic or follow the rules of reality.

Sighing, I debated with myself for what felt like an hour before eventually, I chose the middle path.

[You have chosen the Path of Might, Mind, and Soul]

[You have 28 Path Points]

[2 PP: +5 HP, +5 MP, +5 SP]

[5 PP: +5 HP, +5 MP, +5 SP]

+5 HP, MP, SP per level]

The screen went all the way down to the last Path point that I spent, granting me 50 HP, 50 MP, and 50 SP.

[You have completed the Path of Might, Mind, and Soul. You have obtained two skills!]

[Mighty Blow Level 1: Use all of the muscles in your body to strike an opponent. Costs 25 Stamina per use]

[You may now select a class!]

I was then thrust into another dark expanse, this time I could move.

I was in a small lit area surrounded by darkness.

Silhouette surrounded me, all shrouded in darkness.

The silhouette seemed to be constantly shifting as if always changing.

Moving closer to one of them, the silhouette suddenly became more clear.

[The Shadow Dancer]

Seeing the name appear above it, I was slightly confused, until I touched it.

Suddenly, I was somewhere else.

This time in what looked to be a forest, floating above the air, above...what honestly looked like a person that screamed 'assassin'.

This...character was crouched above the floor on a nearby tree branch, clearly searching and examining the surroundings.

That's when a strange and ugly muscular creature with one eye, a bald head, and a horn on its head came from deeper within the woods.

As if spotting his target, the character lept into action.

He jumped from the branch of the tree and seemed to... dissipate into the shadows.

The next thing I knew, the character leaped out from the creature's shadow, slicing their Achilles tendon and sending them to the ground.

The creature swung its arm toward the character, but as soon as the creature's fist neared, the character disappeared into the shadows, reappearing above the creature with knives aimed at the creature's head.

With a sickening crunch, the knives sunk deep into the creature's skull, killing it.

[The Shadows are your friend. You dance and weave through the shadows, becoming one with them in times of danger or need]

That's...that's a classic RPG rogue class if I have ever seen one.

Walking over to another silhouette, I watched through its cinematic as well.

[Warrior of Ash]

A simple class that is too reliant on the use of Ash for my tastes, and seems to focus more on magic than anything.

I scoured through dozens of classes, some simple in nature, such as [Laborror], [Chef], and other profession-type classes, and then I found a lot of basic RPG classes such as [Rogue], [Thief], [Barbarian], [Hunter], [Priest], and so on.

Eventually, however, I did find a class that drew my attention.

Standing in a wartorn battlefield surrounded by the corpses of the fallen, a figure in purpleish-black armor, with a long sword in one hand and an empty hand in another stood upon a mound of corpses.

Surrounded by a literal army of men, women, elves, beasts, dwarves, and so much more, the singular figure raised their empty hand, and before the eyes of the army around him, a purple flame appeared in their hand.

Clenching their fist, the character crushed the flame and a tidal wave of energy flowed out from them and washed over the bodies surrounding them.

After a few moments, the very corpses around them began to climb onto their feet, as Undead.

Letting out a war cry, the army charged at the armored Necromancer, but they did not stay still, the Necromancer charged right into battle.

With each swing of their sword, the living fell and rose to join the horde, those who survived the sword of the Necromancer had their wounds become necrotic, preventing the Priests around from healing them. They too joined the dead and turned on the very lifeline of the army, the Healers.

With his empty hand, the Necromancer threw out devastating dark magic that rotted flesh and spread life-threatening diseases and curses that made many fall to their knees screaming, begging for death, so much so, that they willingly killed themselves to stop the agony. By the end of the battle, the Necromancer stood tall over his new army of Undead.

[Knight of Death]

[Friend of Death. You boast both a strong body and magic, allowing you to raise the dead, curse and turn the living, and boast skills that will make you a danger to all who live]

Come on, sure, it is a bit Cliche, but it combines both a Necromancer and a Spellblade, meaning I can attack from both afar and close, and with the skills the class supposedly will give me, I'll be able to take on most of Night City if I have to.

[You have chosen Knight of Death as your first class!]

[Unlock your second class at Level 250]

[Mana Bolt Level 1 has changed to Necrotic Bolt Level 1]

[You have gained the skill: Raise Undead Level 1]

[You have gained the skill: Sense Living Level 1]

[Raise Undead Level 1: Raise a corpse or carcass into an Undead. Only simple undead can be raised. Costs: 100 mana per use]

With that, I found myself back in bed, suddenly filled with power. I could feel the increase in my vitality, mana, and stamina, and it felt heavenly.

Minutes later, I finally went to sleep.

In the morning, I may very well need to test out my new...abilities.
