I've been doing an internship during this last month, so I apologize for being so inactive :'I I had ran into some hurdles in terms of my drawing habits,, long story short; I forgot that I need music to get into the magical focused time-flies-by zone and spent a whole week or two becoming more and more frustrated about how I somehow cant focus enough to finish any personal artwork -all while having been listening to podcasts and art panel talks the whole entire time when drawing.
(because yeah, it was great to keep me occupied while doing work that is fun but isn't 100% in my interest area and didn't require all of my concentration,, but it was a bad idea to have it on for the whole 8 hours of work, even when switching to personal pieces inbetween)
So it wasn't so much "running into hurdles" as it was "falling over my own feet" because I somehow didn't think that completely interchanging the thing that had been a constant when drawing, since like 2008, would impact my creative process in any way.
So yeah now I know. At least I still have 2 more weeks to integrate this newfound knowledge of "maybe I should switch to just music whenever I feel like I can't focus for longer than half an hour at a time" to optimize my output as much as possible
this has been a bit of a ramble, but I wanted to at least explain what's been going on. I've been able to get slowly back into commission work as well after that issue has been cleared. It's just so weird when such a simple problem appears to have come out of nowhere,,, after all, you don't consciously think about what effects it might have to change something that seems so mundane.
Thank you for your patience in any case (btw I've been listening to The Adventure Zone and GDC panels, if anyone was curious)
