In a small town in the far north there is rule: "Don't go beyond the Pines". Nobody really knows why, but its ingrained in everyone's psyche.
Over a year ago, a hermit who lived near the treeline went missing. There was a search party, but everyone moved on and left the outcast for dead...
Except for you.
Every night, you go into the woods looking for your lost friend. Until one night, when you bravely go deeper than you've ever gone before.
They're back, but something's changed.
