Eyyy fall is here and I'm starting to get back into the creative stuff! It's still a slow process of returning right now--perhaps more on that later--so I will be pausing October's payment as well while continuing to post things here at my leisure.
Here's a little autumn pinup because apparently that's what I like to do for fun on my personal time :P
Ok, so real talk: I hadn't really drawn in about 5 weeks and it was definitely intimidating to pick up my tablet again after that time. To my pleasant surprise, however, it took only a couple of days for the pen to start feeling familiar again. With a bit of patience and good refs, I feel like I'm quickly on my way back to speed, so it's been a good lesson in having confidence (and patience) in yourself!
One a related note, this whole thing reminds me of a talk at Lightbox Expo with Dave Zaboski--my takeaway (currently very sleep-deprived) is that one shouldn't picture success as linear going from point A to B, but rather a series of imperfect iterations and bumps along the way, spiraling towards your goal, until you get closer and closer to the goal (but don't quote me on it)! You can rewatch his talk on LBX website if you had attended the online conference, he definitely had some good food for thought.
