behind the scenes: animating the prologue (S1)
Added 2021-05-26 22:47:27 +0000 UTCHi all! behind the scenes work for Abysm with actual animation shots and boards. Ash is helping me with this one as it's a full transformation sequence to serve as the prologue of the comic arcs.
Stemming from the opening I posted to youtube, the prologue follows Matilda as she finds herself cornered in the Abyss with an artifact she acquired from deep inside the maze.... except she's pretty screwed now.
The sword pull sequence consists of a few parts. Pre-activation (above, but with a hand extending and the sword hilt unlocking, the blade acquisition (the ring materializing and pulling the blade to the hilt with the black tendrils spawning from Omega's eye, ground shatter from the blade's proximity to the surroundings, and the sword cut (a very large animation that's only 2/3's roughed)
finishing this will officially launch the comic, so I'll do continual posts here. It's also the largest thing I'll have animated but it has to be done
