Damn, so Cid deals with social conflict in the same way I deal with most of my health issues xD

Even Cids mob act can't always keep the attention off of him. He's just too connected with the kingdoms princesses.
Only in the eminence in shadow has an MC pretending to be weak in a tournament been so amusing.

Some of the confusing parts of it is that the anime isn't following the books exactly. Episode 1 is from Volume 4. Throughout Season 1 there are little bits and pieces from Volumes 3 and 4, but you wouldn't really notice it on the first watch threw. I think they did great in incorporating some of those details in to normalize them in continuity.
I am guessing with the release of Volume 7 there would be enough for 30-36 more episodes, assuming the movie is the last arc of Volume 4. I honestly wouldn't mind if the movie is stand alone sub-cannon filler.

You've got s1 bonus features to react to as well and eek out just a tiny bit more EiS time.

Maybe it isnt shown very well, but Claire falls into the brocon trope. She loves her little brother, but more than that she wants his praise. It gets fleshed out more in the first arc of season 2.

Beatrix is Alpha's aunt and Alpha is Beatrix's niece.

I love how in the scene at the beginning with Cid and his sister that many would interpret as an incest joke (which it certainly is) also provides a lot more depth to Cid's character and his relationships with other people. Cid states that his main philosophy of how to deal with social conflict in relationships is to just avoid the other person and ignore the problem until it goes away. Needless to say that is an incredibly flawed view of how to maintain social relationships. This adds more irony to the scene because Cid is obviously not happy with how overbearing his sister is towards him and if you extend this pattern of behavior from him and his other problematic behavioral patterns, I can say with high confidence it is almost entirely his fault that his sister acts this way towards him. Think about it, he is a pathological liar, he seems to avoid her as much as possible and his solution to relationship problems is to avoid them even more. The reason why she physically overpowered him is probably because she thinks that is the only way she can get things across to him at this point. She obviously cares deeply about him and is super mad that he constantly breaks his promises to spend time with her but is so resigned to it at this point that she didn't even try to make him promise to keep his promises to her instead she got him to promise to try and become someone who can keep his promises. Overall I love Cid as a character because he has such a unique and flawed personality and he is very interesting to analyze because he is already fully developed but over the course of the show you slowly learn more about him and his philosophy for life and it all makes perfect sense for him as a character. He would be such and insufferable person to be around in real life though.

Season 1+2 don't cover a clean number of novels - S2 ends in the middle of the fourth volume. The movie will cover the rest of volume 4.
There should be enough material for more seasons after that. The series is still ongoing and there are more books out already (vol 5+6). I read the author mentioned they were going to release/anounce the date for the 7th volume with the release of the movie (which is likely going to release this year or very early 2026).

Lady Beatrix is not competing in this year's tournament. She's just there to observe and look for her sister. (Cousin? I don't recall what relation she said it was anymore. The other Elf that's almost definitely Alpha.)

I mean, you're not entirely, but she respects Beatrix, and you can lie, say Cid isn't a hole ass villain sometimes, I think her hatred is primarily directed towards Shadow, which is understandable, I mean even before ep 19 and 20 he’s done some pretty crazy stuff
