G9 detail appreciation post

Celebrity Crush is the first comic I'll be releasing that uses a Genesis 9 character, and a test of just how much of an improvement the new character models are. For 90% of shots, the difference is pretty small, to the point where you really can't tell it's more detailed than the G8 models. But in close-ups, the difference is huge! You can really make out all the little wrinkles on her hand, which is a huge improvement over G8, where a lot of those shots looked really pixelated.

I'm not going to take the dive just yet for other comics, in part because the product support still isn't quite there yet. But for close-ups it is a substantial improvement over G8.1, let alone G8!

Also, it's worth noting that the quality in close-ups is very dependent on the specific textures and shaders being used. This is using the Victoria 9 shaders, which is the flagship model for the character. We tried a couple of other shaders and it didn't look nearly as realistic, or even obviously better than G8 or 8.1. I'm not sure if there's anything else that's quite on par with this texture set in terms of detail.
