Kaylee 3 Redux... Redux?

Kaylee 3 Redux probably won't be coming out until the end of September, but it's already well underway. Butre did a great job putting the comic together... but I'm a stickler for things like set quality, so it drove me a bit crazy that the alley set he used was actually lower quality than the one from the original version of the comic!

Normally I'd let it slide, but since it's a remaster I feel like it needs to unquestionably look better than the original. I had similar criticisms of the office scene, which used the same set from the original but with the bump maps turned too high, and flat lighting.

So, anyway, I'm thinking about re-rendering those scenes, and possibly the entire chapter. Butre sent me the scene files, so I won't have to do everything from scratch. I'm thinking I'll swap out the old sets for new ones, and make changes to the lighting and render settings, as well as tweaking the camera angles and poses in certain shots. If I put my nose to the grindstone, I think I could have it all ready to render in a few days to a week. And while I'm at it, I might also add a short new scene in the middle of the comic.

So anyway, what do you think? Is my tweaked version (1st image) enough of an improvement over the original (2nd image) to justify the effort? Or does it basically look the same? Let me know in the comments!
