Unfinished Poser comics

So I've pretty much moved on from Poser, which means that I'm probably never going to go back and complete any of my old unfinished comics* from that era. Not to say that I won't potentially redo some of them in DAZ, but the old versions are probably never going to be finished. Or at least that's what I HAD been thinking, but now I'm not so sure...

I'm toying with the idea of releasing them and calling them Voress Stories 3, but the tricky part is that none of them really feel "complete," and it would be hard to go back and add more (for reasons that I'll get into.) But hard doesn't mean impossible!

Here's what I currently have:

Punkgod: about 40 images (although there are a lot of similar/redundant shots)

The farm/dream comic: 14 images (that frustratingly end right when it was getting good)

Locker Room vore scene: 20 images (and there are actually two versions that I rendered, with two different characters as the voress)

UBPD: 40 images, actually kind of works as a comic even if it's a little on the small side

In terms of Material, I almost have enough to wrap it up and call it Voress Stories 3... except for the fact that they all just... kind of end, with no real conclusion or introduction.

*The one thing in Poser that I do want to go back and finish when time allows is Roman Nights: The Game. Not least because I rendered in in Poser's default renderer. Pretty much everything else was rendered in Octane, which I can't use with my new video card (unless I want to shell out another few hundred bucks for something I don't plan on using much)

Then again... maybe it would be worth it to shell out for a license, if it means I can finish these mini-comics? I'll have to give it some thought! What do you think, would you mind me going back to my older style for a bit, even if it's not as high-fidelity?

So what do you think? Should I consider going back to finish these mini-comics, or is it not worth the effort at this point?

I'd definitely be up for a short Punkgod story with what you already have. You could also make it a combined text + image style similar to what Amy's Conquest uses.

Poser isn't most programs, it's a relic. OctaneRender for Poser doesn't have a CPU mode. Poser's main renderer doesn't have a GPU mode. There are some other third-party renderers that I don't know and which aren't well supported, and a Cycles-based render, that uses GPU but looks absolutely terrible.

Redfiredog

I mean usually they have a CPU and GPU processing mode. If you have enough money and bought one of these AMD's monster 64-core/128-thread Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX, but that's a High-End Desktop (HEDT) processor. They render almost as fast as a graphics card on CPU alone. I doubt you'd mess up something, that's pretty hard to do. The only thing I seem bad at is CPU socket placing, tho that's because I've done only a few times. I've broken things before. Rest is easy. Just labour intensive. I guess just get a bigger case best to use PC builder simulation, I think epic games has one. Or pcpartpicker.

Oh and also, I COULD just render in Poser's default rendering engine... it's just slower, and the lighting probably wouldn't match, and I barely remember how to use it. ...but I guess that is an option too.

Redfiredog

Yeah, I've done that before but I always worry about spilling something on it Anyway, I hate dealing with hardware stuff, and I don't want to risk messing something up just to get a few last Poser renders!

Redfiredog

I just have an open case these days the test bench case as permanent setup

Union

Yes, in theory I could fit another card, but I don't think there's physically enough space in my case to fit both, and I'd probably have to install a new power core, and it would probably mean that it doesn't cool as well

Redfiredog

haha. ha ha ha ha Yeah in theory you can export Poser models via FBX to DAZ. In practice... there are a million things that can go wrong and it's usually more trouble than it's worth

Redfiredog

Don't exporting 3D files have universal formats that work on multiple platforms can't you just export likewise from the two programs.

You do realise that one PC can have two graphics cards running. They don't have to be the same at all you just have to have a motherboard with two slots and power both of them. If you don't have a two slots you motherboard, then the only upgrade you should get is a two slot motherboard (or more) for GPUs. And swap all your parts into them plus + 2 GPUs. Oh yh it was a forum talking about stuff. Didn't even have any links in it.

Union

Please don't post links to piracy stuff on my Patreon! That seems like a great way for me to get in trouble. And I already have Poser, that's not the issue!

Redfiredog

Even if I wanted to, it's a very well-secured program. The Poser plug-in is a niche within a niche, I seriously doubt it's been cracked! What I could do is re-install my old video card, either on my current PC or one my old one (which may or may not still work...) but I hate dealing with hardware stuff, and I don't want to do anything that could put my main PC out of comission

Redfiredog

What about just pirating the software.

Union

Same

I'd be onboard for the short story idea. I did like the pix for PunkGod.
