Kaylee set test

So I'm testing out a new Los Angeles set, which has much higher-resolution models of the area around the skyscrapers.  It has more than twice as many polygons as the last LA map, even though it's only about a quarter of the size (which you can see in the third picture.)

I put the set in two different scenes and I'm trying to decide which one to use. The first pic is a simpler set with just the HD downtown model and matte fog. It's EXTREMELY fast to render (like 2-3 minutes in 4K.)

The second scene is the same one that I used last chapter, but with the new model ported in and volumetric fog (which makes the distant scenery look way better.) It's a much bigger scene, and it takes a few times more to render (10-12 minutes in 4K, which is still pretty fast!)

The advantage of the new scene is that it's set up to look good in wide shots, so I could easily go back and forth between close-up shots I'm planning to show most of this scene from Kayla's POV, which means a closer and lower camera angle for third person POV shots. If I use the first set I'd kind of be stuck doing relatively close shots, and the second one would give me more freedom. On the other hand... I kind of like the way the lighting looks in the first shot, and it would be hard to replicate that! Plus, two-minute render times are insanely fast!

Also, Patreon apparently changed everything around again? Oh well, I'm sure I'll get used to it right before they roll out another change!
