I thought I should probably say ahead of time that Kaylee 17 might not be a bit shorter than recent chapters. Since Part 10, every Kaylee chapter has been 200+ pages... but since I made the switch to DAZ with Kaylee 14, every chapter has taken more than a month to create... which is a bit of a problem with a monthly release schedule! This hasn't been sustainable, especially if I'm going to be releasing a chapter every other month, so I think I'm going to aim for over 150 pages, instead of over 200. The same goes for other comics. Some may be over 200 pages, but I'm not going to aim for that, I'll aim for over 150 and see if it goes over in the end.
I think a 200+ page length is sometimes justified, for a first chapter that has a lot of plot and characters to introduce, or when there's not a good stopping point (which is why Kaylee 16 ended up being 200+ pages.) But length creep has definitely been a thing on my end! Just look at how these comic lengths have grown:
OAG 1-2: ~95 pages
OAG 3-4: ~145 pages
OAG 5: ~150 pages
OAG 6: ~220 pages
OAG 7: ~200 pages
Kaylee 1: ~200 pages (but that was because I had a lot of non-giantess character stuff I wanted to put in)
Kaylee 2: ~100 pages
Kaylee 3-8: ~150 pages
Kaylee 9-16: ~200 pages
I don't want to go back to the days of 90-page comics being typical, but I think 150 pages is a good number to aim for, and 200 is just a bit too much to be sustainable, especially for a comic like Kaylee.
Also, this chapter will probably end shortly after she grows a mile high, leaving some of the downtown destruction stuff for next chapter.
