The LA Set
Added 2022-05-02 06:18:21 +0000 UTCSo the LA set I'm using is actually a combination of two models: A smaller, high-definition one that covers the downtown area, and a much bigger, lower polygon map that uses displacement maps to look relatively detailed. (And then, also, a water plane for the ocean.)
The first image is a map I made to figure out how the sets fit together and keep track of other things. The second image is a screenshot of the set, with a red line drawn around the high-res downtown set.
The set renders surprisingly quickly. When it renders in hardware mode, it takes 15-20 minutes per render, and that's on my old video card (I still haven't gotten around to installing the new one LOL.) It should render in a little less than half that speed once I do install the new one, so that could be as fast as 10 minutes per render, which is insane!
