2021-06-27 21:53:21 +0000 UTCI totally disagree, there are whole genres like magical realism and minimalistic fantasy short stories that are stronger because they don't explain everything. It's implied that she's has some kind of magical growing abilities for years and that's where her wealth and power comes from. It's not necessary to know exactly where her powers come from, because it's not necessarily that interesting or relevant. Take something like Under Her Skin (the movie, from what I've heard the book is more direct.) Never outright states that she's an alien, how she got to earth or why they're harvesting people, it gives you the bare minimum and lets you roll with it. And there's something to be said for the less is more approach; she could be a goddess, a girl with magic powers, or whatever you want her to be. She got her abilities long before the comic takes place so there's no need to show it, and I think explaining it would make the comic worse, not better. The X-Men were created precisely because comics writers got tired of having to come up with explanations and origin sequences for every single character. They can get boring for both characters and creators!

Like take spiderman if out of the blue he would start firing lazers out of his eyes then the fans wouldn't believe it's cannon cause it doesnt fit
