Patreon is apparently going to start charging sales tax in some states
Added 2020-05-28 23:50:36 +0000 UTCAbout half of US states have sales tax on digital items, and this month Patreon is going to start charging sales tax in those states.
On a $15 monthly payment, that could mean somewhere between $.50 cents and a dollar, since different states charge different amounts. However it might also be less than that, since I'm looking into the possibility of taking into account that a significant percentage of the payments (half, maybe?) are for artist support and access to posts, both categories that aren't taxed.
