Thinking about making a few minor changes to my Patreon

I was an early adopter of Patreon, and there weren't a whole lot of examples, so I just kind of made up a lot of things as I went.

I have what I'm pretty sure is a fairly unique system, where you only get the first half of most comics on your first month, and have to subscribe for two months to get the second half. It also happens to be fairly annoying to deal with, since every month I have to edit and set up the new Patreon comic folders.

Because of that, I'm thinking about making it so that, for whatever series I'm releasing a new installment of in a given month, new subscribers at those tiers will get those full series, regardless of how long they are. So, you ask, the cache? Well, I'm thinking about getting a bit less generous with how many older comics subscribers get each month, especially in Tiers 1-2.

This mainly effects new subscribers, since (I assume) most people are saving comics to a local hard drive. Or are you not? I guess it might not be convenient for mobile users. Maybe I'll launch a poll about that?

Anyway, let me know what you think!

Sounds good to me, too.

The Mighty Duck

Simplified : More expensive to get old comics for new subscribers in smaller tiers Cheaper if you are an old subscriber and you just want the new releases. I think it is a more practical approach.

BigMiku

Sounds all good to me.

Probably not many changes to Tier 3, which it looks like you're in... but I'm thinking I'll make more of the older/complete T1/T2 comics into T3-exclusive comics.

Archival is a big thing for me, so I'd keep the "everything in one folder" folder. Though what specific changes are you thinking about making?

Danyboychan

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I save to my phone but that's it. Too hard to navigate through Patreon's, and every other app for that matter, bs infinite scrolling.

Smiley

Haha, it probably sounds that way, but it should actually make things a lot simpler in practice if anything.
