Squash Match fans, how do you feel about Ann's rampagement?
Added 2018-09-04 04:41:12 +0000 UTCFeedback was generally positive, but I was surprised to see a couple of people who weren't as enthused about Ann's rampagement as I expected. I wanted to know what people thought about the last couple of chapters! Ann's rampage will continue for 2-3 more chapters after this. I've already planned things out, and I think they'll be a lot of fun. For anyone who's worried about them getting repetitive: don't.
But I am sympathetic to those who prefer the slower-paced and more introspective earlier chapters. What I'll say is this: the rampage is a bit like the big battle scene finale at the end of every other Game of Thrones season. I don't want to spoil anything, but we will get more of Ann in the ring, even if it is just more extended flashbacks. Among other things, I wanted to show Ann's first death-match. I wanted to give it a surreal, minimalistic look. I'll go ahead and include a preview pic while I'm at it...
Now that I look at it again, are they too similar size-wise? She's probably 7-8 feet there. Her opponent is actually supposed to be a good amount taller than average, I could easily make him normal-sized...
Again, I don't want to say too much about the story, because I don't want to risk spoiling anything. But I will drop a few hints: First, there are two major inspirations for the overarching story of the Squash Match series (well, since I started planning an overarching story in Chapter 4): Breaking Bad and the giantess story The Girl Who Grew. The direction the story goes in draws a bit from both of those series.
This next hint is more specific and more obscure, but for all five of you who've watched Venture Bros through season five, Ann's rampage is structurally similar to All You and Gargantua 2. That's all I'm saying for now, you're free to figure out what I'm getting at if you want.

2018-09-04 13:32:19 +0000 UTCI like the superhero costume (and it makes sense, for armor!) but I understand where you're coming from. If I could start from scratch, I'd probably make it so she took off the superhero costume by the start of chapter 13. But as it is, she'll gradually undress over the course of a couple of chapters. As for the rest... it's a matter of taste. I understand being tired of muscle, although I will say that I planned on the big rampage ending for a long time, and I think it will be a good ending to the series (even if it's a big digression from how things started.)

2018-09-04 09:07:50 +0000 UTCI like the rampage. Rampage is good. But I don't like the superhero costume. It's awful. I hate it. I would much prefer the casual clothes (or nakedness). I'm an anti-costume customer. Another thing I don't like is the volume of muscle she has developed in the last few chapters. It's just a touch too much for me to enjoy now. So all in all I think Squash Match should end. I think it should have ended in chapter 12. Making it longer will only make it worse. It's better to end in style than put so much different stuff in it that it becomes ridiculous.

2018-09-04 05:32:20 +0000 UTCTo me the rampage is a nice change of pace. And it's Ann's fantasy. We already have lots of squash matches, and as any WWE fan will tell you, they get boring fast. She kinda did all she could in the rasslin world, like Bork Lazer. :P She's also just way too big now for the wrestling ring and normal opponents. Like I said earlier, you could always do an "alternate timeline" where she never grows much and stays wrestling, once the main storyline is done. Or introduce her successor in the underground bloodsport realm :D
