Technical stuff: What a difference a bump map makes!

On the left is a bump map from one of the textures I've been using for basically forever; on the right is a new bump map that I've been in the process of switching to/merging. As you can see, the level of detail with the new bump map is vastly superior. The old one had little detail in most areas, and was really quite flat overall.
The new bump map can actually be a little too much detail sometimes, especially if you enlarge... certain body parts, which can also present some challenges, so I've been experimenting with editing the characters. I hope I can come up with a compromise that looks more realistic without changing the visual/character style too much.
