JG3 Solution
Added 2016-09-05 09:24:53 +0000 UTCI hid the link to Remembrance in a few JG3-related images, including the final image of the PDF, but the most obvious one was this early "preview." There are a lot of things that are strange about the original image (which can be seen
) but one of them is the large amount of whitespace, combined with the fact that parts of the image are faded. I dropped a few cryptic hints about how "the light blinds," and, well... If you try to make the PNG image darker, or increase the contrast, it becomes apparent that some of the "white" space isn't quite white after all!
A pixilated version of the new villain appears, along with some cryptic text. Bits of a URL can be spliced together, which ultimately links to an old Pax Romana story post of mine on DeviantArt. Another phrase can also be deciphered, "THE END OF ONE STORY IS THE BEGINNING OF ANOTHER," which also appeared in a few of my recent posts.
That phrase comes into play on the story post. It's an old post for an unrelated story. At first glance, there's no sign of anything JG-related. But there are a few hints of the next step. On the promo pic, the phrase "A NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS!" was all in red, except for the period of the exclamation mark. And again, "the end of one story is the beginning of another." What could that mean?
It turns out, if you scroll down to the bottom of the story, there's something slightly strange, which is easy to miss: the final period is blue. It's hyperlinked, and clicking on it will take you an HD image of the new villain! Anyway, there were a lot of steps to figuring that out, so I'm really impressed that John Smith and Demented Mogli both managed to find the image! Props to both of you, and I hope you enjoy your custom renders! For everyone else, I'll be releasing another morsel of Junkyard Girls sooner than you might expect...
