"Ohhh I'm finally starting to get some free time" I said as my baby started sleeping more and more - only to suddenly change to three 25 minute naps a day. C'est la vie!
I recorded both this and the last workprocess to be able to look it over. (I haven't posted it yet tho.) I tend to make the same mistakes quite often in large due to - drawing in the evenings.
After a night of interrupted sleep, and a day of baby cries and house chores and autistic toddler shenanigans - the late evening isn't really a good time for me to get any work done. Yet, that´s usually when I get it!
My biggest mistake this time was accidentally merging the original bodies that had different layers to edit. I didn't notice. And I hadn't made any back-up saves. DOH
Since I then had to make the characters larger as well, they got a little pixelated.
If you're reading on a computer you might notice, but probably not on your phone 😅
I did start making a character and background library. Using references (which I almost never do, but should!) and the bubble tool is helping was helping a lot.
And even tho I reeaaaaally tried to keep the layers named and in order - in the end, as always, total layer anarchy! ☠️
So for my next comic (Which will be a probably not be for quite a while) my tip to myself is -
Make a 4 square comic. Half the work. Half the layer mess!
Keep the background stuff in the same map!
Make as much lineart as possible. Drawing is fun. Editiding copy pastes, not so much.
Use bubble tool for eyes and mouths and front hair and some backgrounds.
LAYER ORGANISATION
I think that´s the most imporant stuff. Let's see how I do next time.
And let's see if I can avoid the word "time" as well.
... Probably not.
Hope you're all good.
Much love from me// Tardee <3
