So I'd like to gently remind you all to stop using iOS (if you are) to subscribe to mine or any other creator's Patreon pages as it raises the prices for all of you and reduces the money that we the creators make.

We’re writing to let you know that your Patreon has been updated to use Apple’s in-app purchase system. This means that all purchases of memberships and shop items through the Patreon iOS app will now include Apple’s 30% App Store fee. As a reminder, Apple’s fees do not affect your existing members. You also have the ability to choose how Apple’s fees impact your prices and earnings through the iOS app. You may adjust your selection any time in your settings.

It's only if you use an iPhone I believe. Otherwise it shouldn't be an issue. TwoJacksAndAnAce made a great reply to the comment above that sums it up pretty well.

2025-02-15 07:38:30 +0000 UTCIt was announced a while ago but basically what’s happening is if you become a member of a creator on Patreon using your phone, (using the Patreon app on IOS) Apple is now getting a massive cut of the money that you pay, so now all members pay a shit ton more and creators revive less from their members, this is because before there was no extra charge for Patreon through the Apple App Store but now they want a piece of the pie, so starting now it’s best all people who are going to donate to someone subscribe through their browser (on your computer) on the Patreon website to avoid the large fees Apple is now charging everyone using Patreon on IOS, this does not have any affect on those who are already members but if you now become a member of another creator or cancel and renew a membership using your phone you will be charged the extra fees.
