November 2024 News Update

I'll be separating this from the Twitter mega, as there's quite a lot to talk about.

Next episode of Sayako is still coming along. I might have bit off more than I could chew, so it's just taking a bit to get all the pieces together. I also plan to return to some regularly scheduled stuff, so it might slow things down, but I'm still going to aim for it's release this month. However, I might be overestimating how far along I actually am, as just rendering the scenes alone is going to take another week or two (which I have barely started).

Patreon has recently just changed policies so that all subscriptions must now be on it's "subscription billing" cycle. Basically, instead of subs being just for the month, subs will now always be 30 full days. This is something iOS is forcing Patreon to do, so Patreon is giving all creators a full year to make the change before all Patreon pages will be forced into the new sub cycle. This of course means more bang for your buck, so this is theoretically a good change for everyone. Those on Fanbox will stay on the usual month to month billing cycle.

Commission prices are going up. I had set that price 3 years ago, so I think it's fair now to bump that price up. The previous price was 20USD, and will now be 30USD. Add-ons are going to be a similar price, but I will be less lenient about it. Before, I would sometimes under-value what the add-on price will actually be, so end up charging much less than the work I put in.

To help people to understand my prices better, I've also implemented commission packages. Telling people the commission price is 30USD might be deceptively low, but it's difficult to inform people of the prices without knowing what they are going to commission. So these packages should hopefully better inform people of the actual final price.

However, to be fully transparent, the price will likely be cheaper if you pay just the base price and pick and choose what you want to be sculpted after posing. The reality is that some things just don't need to be sculpted, that some issues just aren't visible at certain angles, or that the time (and the price associated) just isn't worth the fix. There may also be morphs that can fix the issue without need for sculpting.

I'll be starting up commissions again within the week, I'm just finalizing a couple of details with the new price increase, as well as making the document itself. I'll be accepting them at a reduced capacity, until I at least finish off the next Sayako episode.

I'll also be starting a new commission type called scene templates. Basically, every so often, I'll release something I'm calling a "scene template". It's a scene that has characters that have already been fully posed and sculpted, and basically just needs to be rendered. The scenes will include a lot of attention to detail (likely even more than what I have done to date), and the idea is that you can pick who the characters are, as well as adjust minor parts of the scene for the final render. I want to allow a broad level of being able to freely cutsomize the scene, but I'm not really sure how strict I should be or how to set up that customization, so bear with me for this. The point of this is to allow me to dump more time into a scene and see a, hopefully, higher return on higher quality scenes.

I'm not sure how this will turn out, but I'll try a few to gauge interest. More details to come once I post it the first Scene Template.
