2025-08-26 15:45:00 +0000 UTCSo the particles in the mana dry area's the Angelica is talking about is actually called Grain, and it first made its appearance in Notes. a short story Nasu wrote about the end of the world where all the mana has dried up and the earth has died. A lot of the major concepts in the Nasuverse came from that short story. The life-form they would transform into is Liners, which were also introduced in Notes. They are what humanity evolved into to survive in the Grain after the world died in that short story. Honestly when I first read these chapters/watched this ep I was so shocked that the Magical Girl spin-off would bring in lore from Notes. Made the series to much more peak for me. Yep cause in Chloe and Illya's world Kiritsugu gave up on the grail and on saving the world to save Illya, he chose one of the chance of saving everyone Best Episode of the Season? An answer to that will come in the next few episodes.

The card Illya is using is Hassan of the Hundred Personas, AKA Assassin from Fate/Zero, whose NP is Zabaniya [Delusional Illusion] - the ability that allows them to manifest each of their hundred alternate personalities separately. The one you're thinking of is Hassan of the Cursed Arm, AKA True Assassin from Heaven's Feel, whose NP is Zabaniya [Delusional Heartbeat] where he destroys the target's heart.
