Do not question the gift of Gainax jiggle physics, just accept it with open arms In case it was not obvious the High Priest is voiced by Joji Nakata, aka the voice of Kotomine Kirei If I had a nickle for every time Joji Nakata voiced a fraud priest I'd have two nickles, which isnt a lot but its weird it happened twice So being oppressed under rules that seek to restrict and cotnrol you was the main theme of the ep and ties in to the larger themes of the show, it will all sort of make sense as it goes on and this episode will seem less out of place looking back
