2025-06-28 02:39:56 +0000 UTCThis is the one anime every single person I know has watched in English dub so I knew I had to witness it myself as well. Sean is an absolute beast of a voice actor! I did some research and turns out, he passed out multiple times while voicing Goku. Another crazy fun fact is that he NEVER got to meet Toriyama. That's just so bizarre to think about considering he's the voice if GOKU. I'm definitely open to dbz reactions in the future for sure!

2025-06-27 02:10:41 +0000 UTCBooted up the vid, then had impending feeling of doom it was going to be in Japanese, then absolute relief when I heard the dub, nothing against Goku's Japanese VA I just fundamentally disagree with not recasting Goku when he got older, so I cant watch it subbed. The Voice Actor Situation for Goku is very varied, in English he has had 3 voice actress for his Kid Self and three different adult voice actors depending on the dub(there was a whole dub licensing thing back when it first came to the west which resulted in two dubs and a recast), Sean Schemmel, the one your hearing in this movie is the most iconic and most used since he voices him in the de-facto dub of Dragon Ball Z. Unless you watched it right when it came out Sean Schemmel is the voice of Adult Goku in English One thing that makes this movie special is it was the continuation of Dragon Ball Z after it ended in 1996, (this movie was in 2013) well there was GT but it was not written by the author and is not considered canon. So this is the true follow up to Dragon Ball Z and it eventually lead to the anime getting new stories in Super and then Daima. Also this movie was in part made in response to the live action attempt at Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Evolution, which is probably the worst live action anime movie to exist. Akira Toriyama the creator would not let that move be the last new thing in the Dragon Ball legacy So Vegeta had a redemption arc and is good guy by this point Kakarot is Goku's birth name, Goku is the name given to him by his adopted Grandpa when he found him as a baby. So this movie is tonally an even split between OG Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, with OG Dragon Ball being much more comedic than Z Gohan has the potential to be the strongest of all the Saiyans, but is held back by his desire to live a peaceful life and not wanting to fight All of their senses of danger are completely warped because most of the mare either Sayians, married to a Sayian, or world class martial artists who are used to fighting world ending threats so a gun is like nothing to them. I love the fight between Goku and Beerus, its so clean I do hope you check out all of Dragon Ball from the beginning, would be a legendary reaction
