I really love how each of these fights is a clash of ideals just as much as swords. Yumichika's "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" vs Charlotte's "beauty is who you are inside". Ironically, although Charlotte lost this fight, I'd argue his (her? Their? I honestly have no idea what Charlotte's pronouns are) ideals were proven correct, since it's only when Yumichika gets a literal "who you are in the dark" moment and is able to be his authentic self, without worrying about others' perceptions, that he's able to win. Kira's "war is hell" vs Abirama's "war is glorious". Abirama loses the fight because he charges in recklessly and tries to fight Kira fairly. If he'd kept his distance and fought like a coward, he would have won. Kira, on the other hand, proves that there's no honour in war, only death. Hisagi's "my strength is something to be afraid of" vs Findor's "my strength is something to be proud of". Findor's pride in his strength causes him to overestimate his own abilities, leading to his defeat at the hands of a foe he thought inferior. Hisagi, because he fears his own ability, uses it with care and precision, allowing him to completely overwhelm Findor when he's finally forced to use his shikai. What's really interesting, though, is that Kira and Hisagi inherited those ideals from Gin and Tōsen respectively. So we're not only seeing another side to the lieutenants, we're getting more of an idea of what the traitor captains are like through what they taught their former subordinates.
