2025-06-19 18:37:42 +0000 UTCSo, the purple lightsaber is a reference to the canon character Mace Windu, played by Samuel L Jackson in the prequel movies. He has a purple lightsaber, basically just because Jackson thought it would be cool and asked if his character could have a purple lightsaber. In the expanded lore, Mace Windu practices a particular form of lightsaber combat called Vaapad, which is a style that draws power from an opponent's anger and fury. Strong emotions (especially negative ones) are tied to the Dark Side, so practitioners of Vaapad need immense focus and discipline to avoid being corrupted - which thematically matches with what happened to the guy with the purple lightsaber in this episode. Guess he's not quite mastered the technique yet.

2025-06-15 22:08:56 +0000 UTCSo some info for this ep, It was done by Production IG who are best known for Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket, Psycho Pass, Kaiju No. 8, Eden of the East, and Ghost in the Shell SAC. The Director of the ep was Kamiyama Kenji who is best known for his work as the Director of Ghost in the Shell SAC, and Eden of the East Kamiyama, Kenji will be returning to direct the sequel episode in season 3, and the full series. I think this episode ended up as the fan favorite because of the twist of all of them being Sith and the lore of this specific iteration. In normal cannon lightsaber size and color does not work that way so having this concept of the lightsaber changing to reflect the users current alignment in the force is really cool (in proper canon it attunes to the person and stays that way unless they actively turn it red by bleeding the crystal) Also yeah in star wars there are millions of planets
