All right so remember how there are other mystic lineages similar to the grey wolfs the old lady twins are of one such lineage and they also work for the ministry of occult under Victorique’s father Marquis Albert de Blois who is its head. These episodes we also see the two main opposing forces that drive the story forward, the ministry of occult versus the ministry of science both trying to lead the country forward in the way they think is best. Victories being the ultimate weapon of the ministry of the occult is why her mother wanted her to solve the mystery of the memento box as a way to protect herself against the ministry of science as they would have an incentive to get rid of her. Now the reason Cordelia couldn’t meet with terher is because this whole situation was a trap for Marquis Albert de Blois to capture her which was also why he was in the old man disguise on the train he was expecting her but got Kujo instead. Cordelia is being pressed by both sides as a third party with knowledge that can harm both sides so she’s always hiding in the shadows as much as possible. Another little interesting fact that when kujo faced against Marquis Albert de Blois and the Fell sisters(old lady twins) he felt a chilling aura that almost made him back down before he steeled himself. He described it as different from the primordial fear almost as if facing a huge predator he felt when facing Brain Roscoe or when he first met Cordelia rather it was a silent fear that made him feel helpless and cold resignation as if the world was ending and he could only watch. Now during this conversation Marquis Albert de Blois mentions that blood ties were meaningless to him and that everything was for the sake of the country which made Kujo think of what is father and brothers were telling him in the letter to become a man who could put Japan before himself and contribute towards its success and made him wonder if everything he was doing was wrong he came her as an international student for the benefit of Japan but her he was far away from the school he was supposed to be at to help a girl that was important to him. Everything else during this scene plays out fairly similar but there are a few lines of kujos that I just love during the scene that Victoique is unable to find the will to run. Kujo kneels down to meet Victoiques eyes and tells her “you’ve helped me before, and I’m here to help you. We are of one body and soul. I’m not going to run away alone. Live or die, we're together.” He says this next part while running with her in his arms. He tells her although is family situation is different it has need stressing him out is father and brothers always going on about how a man should serve his country and put that first and that while he’s not sure about what might happen in the future but that for now he thinks it’s fine for him to strive for something important to you at the moment and that he thinks it’s his responsibility and duty to protect her. He tells her that maybe it's fine for her to feel the same. To think that maybe she was born for someone, born to meet someone important (hint hint). As for the train portion that events in that are very different almost none of the scenes play out the way it does except the barebones of who did the murdering and Victorique and Kujo working together to shoot the device. If you're interested I can go into more detail about the why and how but I’m just going to tell you my favorite lines and scenes for now. They are at the police station as Victoique solves the mystery of how the girl on the train was murdered by Gideon(guy whose sister was taken hostage) but the police weren’t able to arrest him because of the ministry of occult blocking that avenue as they as sending the boy his sister in exchange for the memento box. Gideon is shaken and doubtful he asks Victoique with tears in his eyes if she thinks what he did was right to kill in order to save his sister. She responds that she isn’t sure if it was right or wrong she states that Kujo wouldn’t kill a girl even if he were to be in that situation he would probably rather die together with Victorique. However she tells him that he did it out of love, the warmest and most precious feeling that is invisible but definitely exists, something completely alien to her. He then asks her why she even solved the case since the ministry of occult was behind it he would never be charged and could only be let go. She responds that it's to remove Kujo from the list of suspects as being a foreigner makes him an easy target. Gideon then chuckles and tells her that she knows what love is then since she is protecting Kujo just like he is protecting his sister. Victorique then ponders if she’s come closer to understanding the emotion of love. That longing feeling in her heart that she feels for her mother and Kujo that books couldn’t explain to her when she was younger. The volume ends with her and Kujo boarding a train to the academy as she tells Kujo that a second storm is coming that will change the world. Kujo responds that as long as they’re together they can protect each other and that they will never be apart(smooth) to which she firmly agrees that they will never be apart. This whole arc takes place in volumes 5-6.
