A couple of fun facts from the light novel this event was actually supposed to take place before the last arc and is in the first book in the side story series called GosickS is supposed to be their first meeting. Also gold happens to be Kujo’s favorite color which is why he tends to be attracted to blonde girls he would often gaze at the golden flowers in the garden beneath the library which is where Victorique saw him and became interested because of his different skin and hair color
