2025-05-07 22:59:34 +0000 UTCSaiki is basically the king of all Pure Comedy anime no shounen action, no romance, no nothing, comedy back to back to back and it never misses It's so ungodly funny that it managed to get in my top 10 from how absurdly entertaining it is to watch And yeah, the comedy is the japanese style of lighting fast jokes and responses in the Manzai style. Everyone else is unhinged and stupid and Saiki is the straight man to all of them. It goes by really fast and there's often subtitles at the top and bottom at the same time, so you have to pay attention at all times, especially since the anime is all organized in having four 5 minute skits per episode.

2025-05-07 22:24:57 +0000 UTCCryptic, the reason the events in the anime were so fast is because when it originally aired, it was only in the form of skits that covered 3~5 minutes. The 22 minute episodes are a result of compilations of those skits. Since they are all so short, the events in the anime had to happen at lightining speed to deal with the short episodes.
