Wow this was one of the most interesting reads! So then I'd assume that the flash step is the worse one out of all of them since it is easier to detect whereas the Sonido is simply better in that case. But when it comes to Hirenkyaku, is that also detectable? Either way it's better than the other two cuz it combines fast movement and foothold π₯

So, as promised, a primer on the three types of fast movement we've seen so far: Flash Step, Sonido and Hirenkyaku.
First, Flash Step, the Soul Reaper version. Basically, it's an advanced footwork technique that physically propels the user at super high speeds. Soul reapers can also create a "foothold" of condensed spiritual pressure under their feet, allowing them to stand in midair; using Flash Step, they can essentially dash from one point to another, then create a new foothold at the destination.
Second, Sonido, the Arrancar version. Has the same effect as Flash Step, but there are some subtle differences. Most notably, unlike the other two, Sonido doesn't require the user to exert any additional spiritual pressure to use, which makes it harder to detect - better for surprise attacks. Arrancar can also create footholds in midair the same way Soul Reapers do and dash between them the same way.
Third, Hirenkyaku, the Quincy version. Unlike Soul Reapers and Arrancars, for whom "fast movement" and "creating a foothold" are separate techniques that can be used together, Quincies combine both in a single technique, Hirenkyaku. Basically, instead of moving at high speed between stationary platforms of condensed spiritual pressure, Hirenkyaku creates a movable platform of reishi under the feet. A Quincy can then use their ability to manipulate reishi to move the platform around at high speeds, and themself with it.
We actually got a good visualisation of the difference between "creating a foothold" and Hirenkyaku when the boys were travelling to Hueco Mundo. Ichigo was creating a platform under his feet for him and Chad to run along, whereas Uryuu was riding around on a flying surfboard.
