2024-12-04 02:55:34 +0000 UTCI'll save the Mana Transfer details till we get to the scene in question in a few eps but there is a reason the VN is 18+ As for other examples, its implied Rider steals mana from Shirou by giving him an erotic dream in Heavens Feel, said dream features Rin. In Fate/Extra Rin or Rani depending on the route does some mana transfer with your servant (Nero, Archer, or Tamamo) because your connection with the servant got fucked up after a fight with Assassin. In Prillya where Chloe/Kuro makes out with people to restore her mana. After the all ages version of the VN came mana transfer in a sexual way kinda fazed out. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. So idk if you forgot but masters dream of their servants past, so Shirou was dreaming of Saber's past. Archer probably knew where Shirou was cause he most likely lived getting kidnapped by Illya in his own life, Archer's past is supposed to be close to the Fate route with the exception that he and Saber did not get as close. If Prillya is 100% Weirdness, the scene with Illya in his lap is like 50-60% weirdness, So Illya got daddy issues, and she is taking those issues out on Shirou, so like does she like him in that way? mabey. There was an Illya route originally planned so... So her saying she wanted Shirou as a belonging was literal, in one of the bad ends to this scene she removes his soul from his body and put it into a doll so she can keep him forever.

2024-12-04 02:41:47 +0000 UTCWell since fate stay night was the first fate project that came out on that time I’m assuming Nasu couldn’t fit the entirety of Sabers back story in her route. Due to the current plot which are the holy grail war and heroic spirit and other concepts that were first introduced in the Vn. So he only put chunks of her backstory when ever Shirou would dream about Saber past life as King Arthur.

What Shirou saw in Saber's flashback is how the sword in the stone was not the same as the Excalibur she's wielding currently. So the Arthurian legend in the Fate universe follows how Artoria pulled out a sword that was lodged inside a stone slab to be chosen as the rightful king of Britain, the Sword of Selection. That sword was in fact not Excalibur, but another sword called Caliburn. Caliburn was a weapon of the fairies bestowed upon Merlin. It was Merlin who devised the whole "the one to pull out the sword will be the one worthy of the throne of Britain" stuff just to make the populace acknowledge Artoria as their king. This sword, however, did not last long as her step-sister Morgan destroyed Caliburn in a fit of rage as Artoria had stolen her claim to the throne. It was after Caliburn broke that Artoria was gifted Excalibur alongside Avalon by the Lady of the Lake. She was around 16 at this time, so Caliburn did not last longer than a couple of years maximum. Hell this series came out in 2006 and the all ages version of the VN didn’t come out until 2007. So if you watched this when it aired and wanted to buy the game it would have to be the adults-only version with h scenes.

2024-12-03 17:00:58 +0000 UTCThe Garden of Avalon fully explains all of Saber’s backstory in full detail than in the Vn especially than the anime. What you just saw in Shirou dream of saber’s past is all you gonna get unfortunately since again this adaptation tries to fit in the ubw and heavens feel route in this. Thus they cut a lot of sabers development and majority of her past.

Btw the lore with Saber and Excalibur, she pulls the sword from the stone as a teenager and Avalon the scabbard grants her immortality and also halts her physical aging. She then leads Britain for 10-20 years before she gets summoned as a servant. So shirou is a high school senior and saber is like 25-35 lol
