Tbh it must've been for the better because accounting is so boring at least to me even though I was good at it

CrypticBoss

Ahh yea the boop I remember

CrypticBoss

Oh, and I actually did start studying for an accounting qualification after I finished uni, but never finished it because I got a job in a different field. But I remember the basics of double entry bookkeeping, and it seemed like an ideal metaphor.

To be fair I think most humans make it to Soul Society on their own, it might only be the ones with lingering regrets that need help. But, do you remember the "konso" (soul burial)? The thing where Ichigo boops them on the head with the hilt of his zanpakuto? That's how non-hollowified souls get sent on.

OH SHIT MY BOY KOJIROU?!! That's dope and I haven't seen FMA. Keep these trivias coming I love them 🀣

CrypticBoss

Best advice, go with the flow like ichigo 🀣

CrypticBoss

Brilliantly explained! My only question is, when humans die in the real world, how are they sent to the soul society by soul reaper? Because for hollows they have to be purified via the zanpakto but what about normal humans? Also, are you an accountant by any chance because that metaphor was perfect since I did study accounting myself yet here I am pursuing my fulltime anime reaction youtuber career 😭

Oh, I almost forgot voice actor trivia! I'm saving Byakuya for the episode where he actually gets introduced, but I realised we never covered Urahara's VA. His best known other role is probably Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist, and you'll have heard him as Kusakabe in JJK, but most importantly he voices several Fate characters including Leonidas and the one and only LEGEND Sasaki Kojirou.

Just know that the dude you saw in the end will be important soon. Don't ask yourself to many questions, just go with the flow like Ichigo does πŸ˜‚ Oh yeah the thing about balance between the Soul Society and the world of the living. Don't worry to much about it, I finished Bleach and its not like you won't get whats going on without understanding that. I also didn't get it at first but you'll understand soon enough

Think of souls kind of like the water cycle. - The souls of humans who die in the world of the living are sent to Soul Society by soul reapers. Humans who die and become hollows can still be sent to Soul Society if they are purified by being killed by a soul reaper's zanpakuto. - I won't go into too much detail about how life in Soul Society works, as it'll be explained later in the series, but suffice to say, souls who die in Soul Society have their reishi (spirit particles) become part of Soul Society, the way bodies of people who die in the world of the living eventually become part of the ground. - New human souls are formed in the world of the living from reishi that come from Soul Society. This happens naturally when living humans are born. - Because Quincies destroy hollows completely, those souls are "lost" from the cycle and can never make it to Soul Society, resulting in an imbalance (to use an accounting metaphor, think of it like a bookkeeping debit with no corresponding credit in another ledger... the accounts won't add up.) - If this imbalance got too severe, Soul Society would basically collapse and new souls could no longer be created.
