Fate/Carnival Phantasm Episode 2 (UNCUT REACTION)

TSUKIHIME?!

Fate/Carnival Phantasm Episode 2 (UNCUT REACTION)

Comments

Type moon usually saves their big announcements for new years so if we don't get tsukihime news there it's actually so over

I guess it's Red Garden that comes first after the lostbelt arc ends unless Nasu decides to surprise everyone with a January release followed by a Tsukihime/FGO collab. Maybe maybe Satsuki is finally getting her own route...

Clark Huang

Yeah. The OG Tsukihime is really short, with each route about 5-6 hours of read, totalling 30 hours to finish all 5 routes. The Remake is significantly longer, with each route around 30 hours and totalling 60 hours to complete Ciel and Arcueid's routes. Both of them are shorter compared to F/SN since F/SN requires about 80 hours to finish all three routes. (all these times are the times needed if all the stories are auto-played at default speed without stopping, if you read fast it would not take as much time) For reference, Mahoyo is probably the shortest since it has no choices or bad ends and only totals just under 30 hours to finish everything. That being said, it is worth noting as Chaolao pointed out, the Remake only released 2 of the possible 7 routes. The other half, aka. Red Garden, does not have a release date yet. If it has the same total 5 routes as the OG it would likely bring the total read time to around 120 hours.

I'd recommend the game, media, to memes. OG Tsukihime though, the damn horrors will legitimately scare you for life. The bad endings are so detailed and horrible that you just wanna take a week break from that gore detailed deaths... so many.

Chaolao

So far yes, the Tsukihime Remake only came out with 2 routes out of possibly 7 routes. To add on, you definitely need to play Witch On The Holy Night/Mahoyo (not mihoyo/hoyoverse) The game stars around the 3 main characters, and it's all in 3rd person view, you don't gotta play to choose an option but enjoying the game as a movie will be special, and you'll be surprised to see something in that visual novel game. Also, I'd recommend playing it, it'll benefit you for learning more in depth into magic raft slightly more. And the mysteries of this entire story. Until Nasu finishes FGO entirely then he'll probably move onto Mahoyo 2 (possible 3 now thay the FGO X Mahoyo collab extended the world and made me happy, you gotta wait maybe 3-4 years for that to be translated in the ENG servers only, unless youtube but it won't make sense to you to see it now) and Tsukihime 2, which we never ever got. Also, fun fact: I've heard that back in the OG Tsukihime, for the Tsukihime 2 sequel, Bazzet and Caren was supposed to be in the sequel, maybe possible romances for Shiki Tohno, thee Chad!! Or maybe something Nasu had in mind? Nonetheless, Nasu scratched the sequel and put them into Fate/Hollow sequel with the space time which Rin did somehow fucked the timelimes and time and space.

Chaolao

Would you say Tsukihime VNs are shorter than fate ones?

It has 2 visual novels, the OG Tsukihime from 2000 and the remake from 2021, the latter is the recommended way to go forward. For the record, there is a manga on the OG Tsukihime, it's incredibly good but very very old, has some adult scenes like the OG VN. But it only goes through the Arcueid route, which is like 1/5 of the VN since it had 5 routes in total. There is also an anime called Tsikihime Lunar Legend or Shingetsutan. But it was also very old (2003) and incredibly bad. It is so bad that fans and TM Memorial movies simply ignore it and pretend that it doesn't exist. So yeah, I would really recommend just reading through it, especially the remake. Despite being a 'novel', the cutscenes are just wonderfully played out almost as manga panels with voices and special effects. It doesn't feel like grinding through thick chucks of texts since the visuals are very stunning.

First of all, I read every single comment here no matter how long or short it is so please go ahead and always type what you want to! Secondly, why is this info actually so badass?! Personally, my all time favourite concept in anime that I learnt when I was a kid was "visual prowess" thanks to Naruto. It's no surprise Itachi was, is, and will always be my favorite character. But anyway, the reason I mentioned that is because Mystic Eyes is what makes me love all this even more! If I were to give into this world, would it all have to be through a visual novel? Or are there like mangas or light novels and stuff that I can access online or perhaps even books that I could get irl?

Other characters in this episode include: Sion Etlam Atlasia (purple haired girl) - An alchemist who is a member of the Atlas Institute (Atlas is a branch of the Mage's Association along with the Clock Tower so think of Sion as another mage). Her magecraft involves high speed calculation and the ability to hack into one's mind. Another version of her appears in FGO as a central character in the Lostbelts. Arima Miyako (short girl) is Shiki's cousin who he lived with during his exile from the mansion. She's a gag character who knows martial arts. Len (the one building the sand castle) is a succubus that was Arcueid's (now Shiki's) familiar. She can't talk but she can turn into a cat so that's cool. Yumizuka Satsuki (brown hair with pigtails) is Shiki's classmate who was supposed to get a route but was cut out due to time constraints. Now she gets made fun of by Nasu at every opportunity because fuck him. Riesbyfe Stridberg (white hair girl during Afterschool Alleyway Alliance scene) is a knight of the Holy Church, similar to an executor but more honorable. Wields a shield in the shape of a violin with a spear at the end of it so her powers are somewhat music based.

So for the main characters (you can choose to read allat if you want): Tohno Shiki (not related to Ryougi) attained the mystic eyes of death perception when he was 9 after waking up from an accident, only these eyes cannot be shut off and needs special glasses that filter death out of his vision. He lived at the Tohno mansion with his sister before being exiled out of being weakened by the accident but was invited back by his sister 8 years later after news of his father's death. Tohno Shiki is peak. Arcueid Brunestud is the Princess of the True Ancestors, a race of vampires that were born vampires instead of turning into one after being bitten like the ones that humans know, making them the superior race. She sent herself to Shiki's hometown (setting of Tsukihime) as there is a vampire lurking around the city that she must kill. Ciel is Shiki's upperclassman who is secretly working in the same job as Kirei, an Executor of the Holy Church (just not fucking evil like Kirei). She was sent to Shiki's hometown to also hunt the vampire in town. Her running gag is that she likes curry because creativity. Tohno Akiha is Shiki's younger sister who took over as the head of the Tohno family after her father's death and Shiki's absence. She has 'hair powers' that control heat and turn red when she's mad or being weird. Hisui & Kohaku are the twin sister maids of the Tohno mansion (Kohaku is the cheerful sister with yellow eyes and Hisui is the quiet one with blue eyes). Hisui is the assigned maid of Shiki and is in charge of indoor cleaning and maintenance of the mansion. Kohaku is the assigned maid of Akiha and is in charge of food, medicine and outdoor cleaning.
